What the!? You guys have to see this!

So I was testing my new 18-200mm lens today near the local Autobahn when in the distance I see this family doing a Saturday morning stroll. At first I didn't think anything of it, but as they got closer I noticed that there was some sort of animal walking ahead of them. At first I thought it was a dog, but then I peeked through my lens and I saw that it was a cat! A cat is walking ahead of them while their two dogs on the leash are well-behaved and going about their business. I thought it was cute and very untypical. I mean who takes their cat on a stroll here? The closest residential area was about 2 km away too and the cat seemed to know these folks. Anyway, it's a cute picture. :t-cheers:

MAJOR EDIT:

The faces of the family have been masked with new identities that vaguely resemble their original appearance.

Let me know if I should do the same for the dogs and the cat - you never know what sort of weird laws exist out there. Animal rights and stuff like that...

Mr. Kitty is just taking his pets for a walk. It's not easy owning an entire family of humans, but cats are natural care-takers.

It's just rare seeing something like this. If my dog was there he would have torn that kitty cat apart (yeah right, probably the other way around :D). :usa7uh:

^ That's great, I wishmy dog was like that....her only thought when she spots a cat is to bite it in half....it's like those cartoons, really :(

Be careful Christian some people may misconstrue this as blasphemous and wrong. After-all you didn't ask this family permission to photograph them and their cat. How dare you! You're so sick *Sarcasm* x 1000.

Christian, I don't know what I thing about this…it's great that you are so active with your camera and that you improve your skills! But you should be more careful with pick out your "actors". A stone, a flower can't say anything, when it is photographed - but these are strange person – you don't know them, and they don't know, that you are taking a photo of them, even worse: You post it here in the world wide web - where everybody has access to…
…you are not allowed to post and take pictures of persons without a declaration of consent - keep this in your MIND!! And this is still a car forum, and not a forum, where you can present your last catch…

In my understanding this is incorrect. Taking a photo of someone in a public place without consent is not illegal - otherwise all CCTV cameras would be unlawful. I also do not believe it is illegal to publish these photos publicly without consent - look at the host of pictures that appear in celebrity magazines without consent every week. I know sites like istockphoto require waivers for any photos where an individual is clearly recognisable: this is a different application however as the photos can be used in all manner of scenarios (and waivers are thus required to prevent any legal ramifications).

Whether it's distasteful or not is another matter; maybe blurring faces would be appropriate. But in my opinion if you are in public it is almost a given that you will be seen by thousands in any one day: getting seen by a few more on an internet site is hardly an issue.

An interesting topic nonetheless.

Is this the age that we live in? We're not allowed to take pictures of anyone??? I don't think that Christian's intentions are to create slander or bring harm to this family in any way? He seems to merely be showing photos that mean something to him (why he took the picture in the first place). There is clearly a double standard going on in this forum. If the picture is comical in some way and makes us all laugh then it's great, let's all comment on it and create pages worth of replies. But the minute it goes from funny to any other emotion it's not acceptable? Clearly if y'all are going to come down hard on Christian for posting his personal photos on here then some other rules should be established and should sweep across the board and we can all live in censored bliss.

Wimmer live in the european union..
And the law of the euro union is that wimmer is the owner of the picture..
And that single pictures should not be seen as personal..
And thus there is no requirement for wimmer to have the approval of the person in the picture to publish it..

NOW..
There still might be problems on this forum..as some ppl may want to stand above the LAW..

As far as im concernd.. have fun with your cam wimmer:)

PS
So maybe we can put this issue to rest?
Its after all german CAR Zone

There are differences from country to country - you have to get the law and look this up…! :usa7uh:

Normally you have a "right in one's own image/picture" - at least here in germany! You can define for yourself, if someone is allowed to take a picture of you and publish it on the net or somewhere else. ! :t-cheers:

Well, it is difficult - I'm glad that I don't study this…

I honestly think we are making a fuss out of nothing, ok i understand people's reactions in the other thread, but in this one the whole point was the cat & the dogs, the family is very secondary here.

I don't think I've done anything wrong here. :t-hands:

If there is a law that states I need to ask random people for permission to post there pictures on an Internet forum then I may as well as go around Munich with consent forms and ask 50 people - who just happen to be in the background of a shot with an exotic car that was speeding past me on the street - if it is ok to publish this picture on the Internet. Maybe I should stop posting my car sightings threads because of all those random people in the background.

Maybe I overreacted with the smoking pregnant woman, but here I wanted to show the unique relationship between the cat and the dogs - and the family walking them just serves to reinforce what I wanted to show here.

Guys, shut up!!!
Taking photo's is no fcking religion.. DAM'N

I was hoping our forum was a little bit "open minded" than this..
Wimmer here's a tip, don't post such things here, it's perfect for
