It doesn't look very German, it looks a four door version of the Chevrolet Camaro.

Volkswagen says this is their midsize saloon car designed for the U.S market and it will be built at their new assembly plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

But I'm sorry.... I don't buy that.

I don't want to jump conclusions, but I reckon this is the new Passat they will make in USA, because the current Passat is imported from Germany. Because of that, the current Passat starts at 28 grand... it may look like a bargain considered how much car you are getting it. But VW needs a 20 grand Passat in order to snatch the buyers from their Accords, Altimas and Tauruses.

That's why I think they are going to make the Passat in the U.S. I could be wrong, though. But for now that's just my tuppence.

The car in the sketch is promising.

I wish i could say the same for the current Euro Passat which is dated and old fashioned when compared to rivals like Opel Insignia and Mazda 6.

It looks like an Audi with VW badge. :eusa_thin

The only difference is the grille, and the kink in the C-pillar. Otherwise: Audi.

It looks like Seat gets A4 an old platform for their cars, while VW will utilize current A6 platform.

What will Skoda get? A3 platform?

While Bentley will definitely get A8 platform.

Great badge engineering by VW.

Hope it won't turn out to be as shitty as south americans vags.

I don't think it is the new Passat, it is the new model that will be built at VW's new US plant that will compete more directly with the camrys and accords. It will be placed above the jetta but below the Passat as the Passat will move more upscale.

Pardon my ignorance, but does that mean VW will move the Passat to the Executive car territory, to fill the gap between the Passat and the Phaeton and this car will fill the "Passat's shoes"?:t-hands:

I agree... only, I don't think the Passat will be moved upscale. This thing could replace the Passat in the US market, and never see the European soil.

I don't think it's any Vw from near future! Looks more like an Audi & good for it! I wish it's the next A8! :eusa_pray

You really can't tell much by a sketch, it only shows so much. The new VW sedan will have the new face and creased sheetmetal, but the actual car won't be nearly that zoomy.

That looks pretty good, but price, quality and dealer service needs to match it...in short it needs to be overhauled completely.
