SLS Mercedes-Benz Planning a mini-SLS

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (C197 / R197) is a front mid-engine, 2-seater, limited production sports car developed by the Mercedes-AMG division of Mercedes-Benz, with the assistance of David Coulthard. The car is the successor to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. SLS stands for "Super Leicht Sport" (Super Light Sport).

No, I am not an insider and I cannot be an insider, as I do not work for Mercedes-Benz. I thought I made this issue clear some time ago.

The information I get is brought to me by some friends of mine working for Mercedes-Benz.

And this new supercar won't be placed above the SLS ("hyper-car above the SLS", as you incorrectly say). It will slot below the new Gullwing.

doesn't it have to look like a sls to be called a mini sls? Also, shouldn't it be smarter, cheaper to make the new SL the "baby" sls?

It appears that the new supercar will be bagded SLM (probably, the internal designation will be C 177) and it could be powered by a 3.5 litres V6 (the new one, with 306 BHP output), joined with an electric motor developing 109-110 BHP (the same combination as in the case of the VISION S 500 PLUG-IN HYBRID).

The SLM might also feature the new V6 BiTurbo with 354 hp.

That would be even better. Though I am not sure that we'll see a doped version of the new 3.5 V6. I know Mercedes-Benz will spawn lower-output engines by using the 4.7 liters unit as basis.

But, who knows for sure what they hide in store for us?:D

It´s abvious the gap between the 306hp V6 CGI and the 435hp TT V8 should have another engine in between. A 450 with 354 PS sounds perfect, and paired with the electric engines, featuring 470 hp will fit perfectly the SSK or SLM.

That looks HOT i must say it looks awesome i would like this car to hit production.

MBZ fan Do You Think This car Will Hit Production And When...

I would actually like a car above the SLS...

Latest round of magazine discussions on this model has it with a 400ps twin-turbo v6 and a 75hp electric motor, for a total of 475 horses.

I think it would be a less powerful V6 and a more powerful electric engine. 350 + 120 sounds better.

Well the baby SLS is coming this year,it's the new SLK.:D

I know that what you said, Tarek, is in fact a joke, but let's clarify something:the SLK and the SL(which was mentioned by RikfromBelgium) are not supercars, and thus they cannot be put in the same category with the SLS. The SSK or SLM, whatever they call it, will be a supercar and that's why everbody talks about it as the little brother of the SLS AMG.

I don't see the point of a mini SLS. Wouldn't a smaller, better handling, sharper, more focused sports car show up the SLS?
