BMW_Dude said:The more pictures I see of this car, the more I like it, makes the pre FL look a bit dated!
Does anyone know when it's going on sale?
monster said:The climate control sort of changed, now the previousely optional Thermotronic 4 zone aircon is standard across the range. The old aircon does not have the digital display in the middle.
monster said:The air con nobs and buttons, and those on the COMMAND feels very cheap, and kinda loose. I don't think MB have done anything about it since they look exactly the same as the pre-facelift version.
Merc1 said:Yeah that is what I was talking about, it appears that they haven't done anyting about this. A pity on an otherwise stellar car IMO.

The older car was quite a looker as well but w/ more feminine detailiing, and this car isn't made for the soccer mom. Just looking at the F/L you know that the W212 will be an even more bold look than what you see here. Speaking of which (and this is a little off topic) but it seems that w/ the new cars they're trying to decrease a lot of the electronic dependent parts (i.e. senstronic brakes) in an effort to make more effiecent and reliable vehicles. Though you most certaintly wouldn't say that for the new S.
Merc1 said:I agree totally. The outgoing car while gorgeous is a little staid next to the FL version. I couldn't have said it better. The FL version has just enough change to make it noticeable without dating the old car too much.
You're right also about Mercedes reducing the complexity of their cars. Supposedly there were some things left off the new S too. I think I read where Active Steering was left off, something similar to what BMW has.
