My BMW 120i M - 07

Supreme Roadmaster
Delievered to me on Friday, three days ago. Started to rain exactly when I started my car for the first time to take it home, Grrr... :t-banghea And it has continued to rain to Sunday. A lot of wind too, some kind of storm here in Sweden. Not the best start so the car is already dirty.
I haven't washed the car yet becuase I've been out driving, 720 km, kilometers, since Friday. 1300 km left until the break in period is over.

My impressions so far, runflats, not my best friend, little bit noise from the tires, it's a shame since the car is so quiet from windnoise so you hear the tire noise. Runflats will be replaced when they've been worn out. The glove compartment (or whatever the english name is) is too small, only place for one CD case, the rest have to stay in the trunk.
I need longer arms to reach the seatbelt :D becuase my car is the 3 door version so the doors are larger and you need to stretch longer to reach the seatbelt. I want the same function you find in E92 :) .

The drive is excellent , even though the storm, the car is very stable on the road. The car is quiet. The steering feel is awesome, very precise. The steering wheel is thick and very nice to grip, mine is the sport steering wheel. The gearbox is slick, sporty feel and tight gearchanges. Short gearshift feels sporty too.

The sportseats are comfortable to sit in (I did a 2 hour drive without the need to take a break) and offer good grip for the back and legs. Push a button and the seats will squeeze you harder, that's particulary good if you want to take a bend in a high speed or if you want to do track driving. The seats will help you hold your position.
Interior materials with high quality and good feel on buttons and such. No complaints here from me.

I have the sportchassi on my car and the chassi is stiff but still offer good comfort. If you drive over a hole you feel the suspension but drive on the highway or a country road you dont feel much from the suspension, you only feel pleasure and being amazed how good the car handles.

I like sporty cars so this car suit me perfect, it's my type of car. :)

Colour is Lemansblue metallic and its only available if you choose the M-package. This colour was first introduced for M5 E39 many years ago and it's now only available if you choose the M-package.

So far no problems with the car and you can't get enough driving. 1-series offer a nice driving experience.
Here are three photos for you guys showing a car that been through rain and wind for three days and 720 km of travelling.

Within a few weeks there will be pictures of a clean car and photographed with an expensive systemcamera so expect som highquality photos :) but for now some personal photos I took with my own cheap digitalcamera.

Very nice write-up!

I share the same impressions about the 120i. How's your consumption? Mine after 1300km is at 10.5lt/100km with A/C constantly ON and a lot of traffic. I change gears a little over the car's suggestion. The car is telling me to shift at 2000rpm...I usually do it at 3000rpm. I have also switched off the traction control (some times) and played at some turns with the rear end  ...fun, fun, fun!

I have a suggestion...replace the front grills with 130i's chrome ones. They make the car look 10times more aggressive!

Congratulations mate on your car!!! It looks gorgeous! :eusa_clap

congratulation mate! It seems like a lot of GCF members have received their new cars lately. The 1 series looks very nice with Le Mans blue, espically when the car is under the sun. The wheels look like they will be a b*tch to clean though. Are you satisfy with the performance of the engine?

p.s what happened to your Saab 9-3 Aero review?

im still under break in period so no engine test yet. :) and the wheels yep but I like to clean so it alright.

Saab, never drove it since I got a good deal on this car. :)

Nikos, the car want me to change gear often but you cant follow it all the time, you get exhausted :D
I think the car drank like 0.8 liters in 90km/h in sixth gear and cruise control on. I think the fuel consumption is good although the engine is new.

No mods is planned now, before winter I will give the car a DITEC treatment and then Im doing a trip to US so I need money for that so no mods is planned (if it ever happen).

What do you think about the engine ?

first time I started the car it sounded like a diesel :D but once you drive it has a nice sound. I have only reeved up to 4500 rpm, reeved to 5000 rpm by mistake once but since the break in period you arent allowed to rev more than 4500 rpm. I dont know what the car sound like when you reach the redline at 7000 rpm, cant wait to hear that.

Its a nice pull on sixth gear too, yesterday I was crusing on the freeway at 140km/h with cruise control on and you could feel the cruise control helping the engine staying 140km/h when you drive on a hill. The engine feels strong at high speeds.

Still, waiting for the break in period to be over before I do some serious driving.

Congrats Just Me!!!

What can I say? Very nice car! Stunning color! And spot on specs (ie: sport pack, manual gearbox)

It's really a shame regarding those run flats.

Waiting for engine performance feedback one you allow yourself to go all the way to the redline

Enjoy and drive safe

I don't have to say what I think of the car because you already know; I love it. Looks great Andreas. I thought I was seeing a nav screen in the oher pic, but that is the only thing did didn't order it seems?

Oh, and do what Nikos said: order the titanium colored grille. Can't be expensive and will look sweet!!!!

BTW, 2000 km break in???? Are you serious? Wow!

No, no Nav. I dont drive that much or long trips so unnessecary for me and if I need NAV I can use an extern Nav, those are pretty cheap these days or I simple borrow my father NAV. Piece of cake. However if it was a 3er or 5er I would probably add it but I dont see the point with it on a babybimmer.
the picture you saw, instead of a NAVI there is storage place to put hide things.

BTW do you remember one thing you told me to buy when I said I was going to buy a 1er? you were on me like hell about it :D Do you remember what it was? ;)

HELL YEAH!

You got XENONS. Looks STUNNING

Edit; And I think Le Mans blue is sick. My next Bimmer will have this color too, mark my words!!! I want M pack on my next car anyway!
