Maybach 57/62 (W240/V240) [Spy Shots] Maybach Facelift: Spy Photos & Info


The Maybach 57 (W240) and 62 (V240) were the first automobile models of the Maybach brand since its revival by DaimlerChrysler AG (now Mercedes-Benz Group AG). The concept car and production models were based on the Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class. Both models had an "S" (Spezial) option, and additional Landaulet version for the 62 S. Production: April 2002 – February 2013, 3,321 produced.

There were pics of camoed Maybachs with the right side of the rearlights having transparent glass, continuing in a grey paint on the shoulderline all along till the front headlamps... Nice idea, but transparent rearlights were just ugly as hell!

MB should BUY Maybachs and then modify them to test the FL, it would save the sales...:D
 
Facelifts usually come halfway through the vehicle's lifecycle. Maybach 57 & 62 were introduced in 2002 and now after 7 years this is the facelift so does this mean the successor is bound for 2016? It'll be a long wait... :D
 
It's a shame the car is getting the same bumper design as the facelifted S-class.

Boy they just don't get it do they. For that kind of jack the Maybach ought to be unique. Those hideous side view mirrors have got to go.

If anything a face lift should be an opportunity to further seperate the brands, not make them look more alike.

Me too but I doubt that orders aer pouring in as most of the potential clients have placed orders on the new baby Rolls or are patiently waiting for the new Arnage that they might have previewed already. Bad timing for the facelift as it should have been launched last year instead.

I thought that Phantom was made on Daewoo platform after the drive in it.;):cool:

Just go and have a seat in the Maybach and maybe make a drive. After that you can judje it. It is superior in every aspect compared to Rolls, exept of design. But that's subjective.

I drove both and I know what am I saying.:cool:
 
If that really is the front I like it a lot. Maybach really wasn't kidding about this car going 7 years. Talk about a facelift that will likely go completely unoticed!

seriously guys, some of you going all high and mighty over the maybach, dissing scott for his remark?

Seriously, the maybach is one of the biggest failures in automotive history. No facelift will save it, even at the rate you are trying to persuade people how great it is. This car will die a slow and unknown death.
 
^^ Nobody ever said the Maybach is the success of the decade.

But comparing it to a Hyundai, especially coming from a member like Scott...:t-hands:

The Maybach may look old, boring and unattractive (and this FL won't change much to that fact), it is one of the very best car ever technicallywise. Too bad it looks like an inflated, oddly proportionned W220 S-Class... it still doesn't look like a Hyundai or a Geely.

In November 2014, Daimler announced the revival of the Maybach name as a sub-brand of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222), positioned as an upscale version akin to the more sporty Mercedes-AMG sub-brand.
