| Re: AutoBild: E 550 vs. A6 vs 550i - comparison pictures The Benz looks hot! But I have to admit that I absolutely love the facelifted A6. It's very smooth and sexy and gave the car that extra little thing before the new A6 comes in probably 1.5-2 years. I wouldn't mind a black 3.0T fo sho! Love it!! ![]() ![]() About the Beemer... It's oooold!

| Re: AutoBild: E 550 vs. A6 vs 550i - comparison pictures I like the new E Class, but I feel that it is a easy target for Audi and BMW. I can already tell that it will be trumped by the new 5er and the new A6. Mercedes better get ready or it'll get real ugly for the E Class. |

| Re: AutoBild: E 550 vs. A6 vs 550i - comparison pictures All three sedans look nice with attitude! Rear of Audi looks better by mile now! Nothing to worry for E-Class, she's a hot-cake! After all those years, the E-60 still looks young & fresh, something you don't find in every other car, regardless of origin! ![]()

| Re: AutoBild: E 550 vs. A6 vs 550i - comparison pictures Strange thing is, I feel that the Audi is showing age much more than the BMW. New rear is great on the Audi, though.

| The Merc interior looks best to me, classy and warm with a nice flow to it. The BMW exterior design still looks good after many years, a testament to the BMW designers, the E39 looked great for its entire run and still looks good on the street. I just do not like the Audi front end, it has not aged well. I also think the A6 looks dated inside, although it is well done. |

| The Audi's interior design is the most dated and least-progressive of the three. It shows the least imagination combined with dashboard surface shapes reminiscent of 90's interiors. The BMW's interior set the bar. The Merc's surpassed it.

| The Audi interior is a clean, simple, understated and unpretentious design. It makes me feel cool, calm and composed (whereas the BMW interior makes me angry). That's why it's my favourite by a long shot.

| Well I was merely joking, but the wrapping dash including dials, with the GPS, so high and then slopping down and including the whole center console, does remind me a lof of the e36. Replace the heater grille by the GPS, link it with the dials, and you have the basic A6 dash, don't you find? However, everything can be linked to something that has been done before in a way or another, so... I would rate the W212 interior first, A6 second, and 5er third (doesn't give me the "you're at home" feeling I'm looking for in a car.)

| I agree with your association of form. Don't you think this is even more similar in silhouette / shape? ![]() I also feel the same that some things can be associated with a previous thing or another - especially car interiors. The last thing I want though, is for an interior to say "You're at home". I rather it said "You're in a car". Heh heh...

| I think we are all making too big a deal out of three cars that all have good interiors one way or the other. Keep in mind that each company also has a distinctive style and approach when it comes to interiors. Audi designs modern and futuristic interiors that make use of a lot of silver (colors) and aluminum. BMW interiors tend to be functional, a bit bland in most regards but also sporty. Mercedes also prefers a functional and conservative approach. I think these philosophies are easily detected in the respective interiors.

| I still think the 5 is looking pretty fresh, the overall shape of it might be a little outdated, compared with the W211 Eclass, it made the 5 looking not as "smooth" but next to the new E, apart from the roofline looking a bit dull, i would believe it is not a 7 year old model. The interior, after the facelift, well it think it doesn't look inferior to the new E at all, the new E surely have more gadgets, stuff like illuminated trims etc. but the layout, the general design, well at least i don't see anything that's superior in the Eclass. Audi - well, that rear is nice but i would've thought it was an A5 or A4, being 99.9% identical, who cares. Interior is just the same old Audi interior, so again, who cares. the next A6 comes and it will be again 99% identical. Put a picture of the previous A6 interior here and i'm sure some wouldn't notice it's old. <-- a joke.

| Interesting. I concur. Though I must add that I don't get angry with/at BMW's interior. It just excites me, which may pass as anger.
