Although the R8 is a terrific car I knew that it's edge in performance over the 911 wouldn't last very long. Like I said in the past, the order would be restored once the 911 is facelifted. And this is just the 911CS which is 20% cheaper than the R8, wait until the facelifted GT3 has landed. Full test will be posted tomorrow.

911 = 4,4s
R8 = 4,5s

0-200 km/h
911 = 15,5s
R8 = 16,1s

 
Would still take the R8 over any 911 (turbo/GT2) it's just catches my attention much more than 911s and i love it's from the future design:D

I just hope the new FL Turbo/GT2 beats the GTR coz that is whipping Porsche's butt really hard on the track:D
 
Even the present GT3 clearly out performs the R8, the next one will leave it way behind. I wouldn't be surprised if the next GT3 hangs with the GTR. R8's appeal is the packaging - mid-engine exotic looks with an interior to die for - not performance.

The R8 has recieved a good deal of pray's for it's performance, but I will admit the interior/exterior design is the selling point.
 
Hard to choose here, but considering the transmission choices in this test, I'd have to go with the Porsche. The R8 get the styling award, not necessarily "better" looking, but more attention getting/arresting on the road.

Well the R8 V10 is coming so if Audi manages to do it right,it'll smoke pretty much every 911:D

So do I mate:D Audi soon will be king of the ring and then Mercedes will have to drop their weapons and wave the white flag and bow down to Audis needs:D
