That clip was a real BMW advertisement? I thought it was fake. In that case I must say that it was not a particurlarly good ad.

What clip is that?

Yeah i'm disappointed to know that clip was a really done by BMW,they should know better.

If the point of the ad was that the guy would rather be by himself in his M3 than with a pretty girl in a SL then I think it's pretty good.

I don't speak German so I have no idea if I'm right in what the purpose of the ad was...

the girl asked what he wished for (as the star went by)...

funny clip
i'm waiting for a strike back :D

Re: BMW is preparing the M1 Hommage concept for production

Dat's a fookin' fantastic ad!

Re: BMW is preparing the M1 Hommage concept for production

I've never liked this kind of ads where you say crap about the competition. BMW always did it, and I hate it. Just like Steve Jobs always tries to bash the competitors in his shows.

However, I admit there is one BMW ad like that that I find brilliant. But reaally hard for Mercedes... This is a fabulous ad.

http://imageshack.us

Still, they shouldn't need to use this kind of depreciative ads.

Deceptive?? Would take a severe lack of sense of humor to come to that conclusion. Anyway, I love these to and fro ad wars, I hope MB responds - may be the chick dreams of ditching him for a dude with SL63.

I couldn't believe it when I saw the ad a few years ago in a magazine. It's still my favorite car ad up to this day.

I like these cheeky ads. You gotta be pretty creative in order not to be lame.

AFAIK MB usually does not respond to these. They're above that.
These ads are often very funny, but I don't like that kind of mentality. Mocking the competition without any argument is not what I consider right for such a carmaker. And BMW always does that. It's kind of childish and sometimes very harsh.

If, like Scott says, MB is very upset about this ad (would surprise me, it's not the worse BMW did to them) and that it has an influence on the discussions about a cooperation (I think not...), then it will prove that it was an incredibly stupid move from BMW.

No, they don't respond to such advertising ... They start it. :D

Don't you remember ... one of the many ... "I Drive? No, you drive!" campaign for Comand system (S-class) after E65 with iDrive hits the showrooms?

And there was another in Germany - mocking the 5er campaign slogan "Someone has to lead."

etc.

Re: BMW is preparing the M1 Hommage concept for production

Raoul, do you really think they actually care about some guys from web playing jokes with ads?

I don't think so.

In that case Audi would sue BMW several times already for numerous funny ads with frogs and horses and text This is why we don't have front wheel drive...:D

:t-cheers:
