Can't Decide on a New Car - Help me out

So today is my once a month monday off and I have been researching a new car to purchase for my soon to be wife. She loves my 530i so I want to get her a BMW but obviously not another 5 series...

Im stuck at a long shot between an X5 and a 3 series coupe or convertiable. Two totally different vehicles but I will explain.. She test drove the X5 with me and loved it and I really want one as well but currently we don't have any kids thats a couple of years away. The coupe/convert would be the better choice from that point of view.

I spent the day pricing them up on the BMW Australia website and with my work bonus and salary increase next yr I do believe we can afford either of them how I have optioned and priced them...

So heres the decision to make - Which one of these three???

Each of the terms will be for 36 months with a deposit of 20% and a risidual value of 50%

The cost of each per month are as follows:

335i coupe - $1589.28

335i convertible - $1680.53

X5 4.8i - $1865.92

These are estimate values I will get the Fleet manager at work to get me some final values and get back to you. Give or take $200 I would say on those values but... My 530i is around 1700 a month

I would choose the 335i convertible ....unless you plan to have children really soon and so the X5 would be very practical. All three cars are great ....I'm sure any one of them would make her really happy.
 
Lucky girl. Does she know about it yet?

I voted for the 335i convertible because there is nothing sexier than seeing a nice woman in a nice convertible, and she will absolutely love the roof down driving experience, you will too.

You don't have a family so I don't think the X5 should be even an option, go for the 335i convertible, or the coupe if your soon to be wife doesn't like the extra attention.
 
She doesnt know about it - its a surprise for putting up with me never being home the last 5 years really... Shes a girl and would love the convertible so I think its heading that way... Haven't really seen many around which is good wereas i'm starting to see heaps of X5's

starting to get close to a decision.... I really love the X5 interior but... it kills the 3 series
 
I voted for X5. Women like SUVs cause they feel more secure in them.:D
 
I could always give her the 530i and get myself an M3 or possibly if im lucky an M5 :D:D:D

I might have to get rid of her if im going to get the M5 but :D
 
335 coupe..its the most car for the money
The X5 is rather expensive..plus SUV´s are so yesterday..imo
the extra price for the cabrio is not justified when it comes to the 3er..as it looks worse than the coupe.. you cant pay to loose..that doesent add up:D
 
I entered into a sly conversation with her regarding the latest BMW magazine I recieved from the dealer and she absolutely loves the 3 series and 6 series convertibles.... I think the 650i which is all we have in Australia is a tad to expensive so I'm thinking it might be a 335i convert... we shall see
 
^^I can't imagine any female not wanting that car ....man, she will think you are the greatest guy in the world!! ....you can't lose, whichever one you chose ...but seriously, the convertible is a very sexy and luxurious choice.
 
Enjoy life while you don't have kids yet, buy the convertible, the weather in Brisbane is hot too.
 
I would definitely choose the 335i!! It's an awesome looking car and I'm more a fan of the 3-series Coupé! The X5 is powerful and awesome, too - but I wouldn't need the extra space!
 
If you don't need too much space, go for the coupe. Otherwise, you know what i'm suggesting you...:cool:;)

You don't have children so forget X5, and choose the 335i, but Convertible or coupe ? If your wife really cares about sport, then it's coupe but if she wants something to cruise with it, then it's the cab.
 
Shes no driving enthusists... shes does enjoying wasting my money on shopping and dining with all her girlfriends but... so im really thinking the convertible from the image point but the X5 could work from her needing all that room to carry every bloody thing she buys....... actually with a small boot she can get less.. hmmmmm maybe I would be saving myself money with the convert

:D She cooks a good meal I'll give her that... And she irons my shirts which are supposed easy irons yet I find even more difficult then brain surgery
 
HAHA yeh well she bagged me early... we have been together since i was 19 and I'm 28 now going on 29... She does put up with me waking at 5am nearly every morning and not getting home til atleast 5pm most evenings so I can't complain to much
