Hi,
This friday we had an accident with our GL320CDI. It was about 19.00 and it was pitch dark outside. We were doing about 80-90km/h over a small hill when it happend. We gained distance on the cars ahead very fast, and a car in the other lane blinded us with his lights and suddenly we saw the moose (and his girlfriend :) ) maybe 10 meters in front of us. After a short "blomp" sound it became quiet. The car didn't change direction or speed and just continued straight ahead. The damages weren't too bad either. I guess we were lucky :usa7uh: The passanger in the second row didn't even notice that anything had happend at first.

Here are some pictures;

The pictures are highres but it takes forever to upload them to Imageshack.
Enjoy, I'll post pics of our loaner as soon as we get it :)

I'm glad you're okay. I have a friend who collided with a mouse. The entire moose's body slapped right into the wind shield and ripped off the whole roof. My friend and the passenger got the moose slammed straight into the face.

He obtained some head injuries and had to sleep before 22:00 for a year, had problems concentrating and had headache quite often. But he's pretty alright now. The car he was driving was an Audi A4 avant.

Glad everything went well with you buddies. You're in real trouble when you hit them dead on in lower car. I just read about a guy that crashed with a moose in a Mk1 Golf a few weeks ago, and on the pictures it looked like a mechanical arm had cut off the entire roof. Scary stuff, he managed to survive by tilting his head down.
:eusa_thin

^^
Yeah it's very dangerous and in the right of a mouse your are sometimes better off driving off the road. The best thing is to try and hit the back legs of the mouse and to the PIT maneuver. But often the moose suddenly jump in front of you and leaving you with no time to think.

Really, Luw? :D

As for what happened to Villbringebær, you really got off easy. I know several people who've collided with moose and some of them were hurt rather badly... all of them survived without permanent damage though. There's quite a few moose around these days, a few weeks ago I saw four(!) grazing on a field near a major highway... luckily there was a fence between the field and the road.

Violence might sometimes not be the answer but in sometimes id sure damn is:D. You need to get yourself an AR 15 or something and take care of the matter. You are the chosen one my young Jedi and I know the force is strong within you.

^me needs that..for several reasons..some of them active on this board..hahah j/k:D

Or even better, buy a Hummer H1 and equip it with metal bars over the front window and just ram every moose/deer you see :D
