"But he gained notoriety in Spain after his rivalry with team-mate Fernando Alonso turned bitter at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and became hated when the latter - a hero in his homeland - was forced out of the McLaren team to join Renault."

Uhm nobody forced him out of the team, the politics last year were equally as troubling for Hamilton but Alonso was the one who decided to leave.

IMO Hami is really immature, to fast he became a public figure and he doesn’t know how to deal with it. For the moony he earns, he better learn fast what cams with it. BS.

Racism doesn't belong in sports and it is certainly not anything Hamilton or any other professional athlete should have to deal with. If you would have experienced racism or discrimination yourself then you would understood how much it hurts. No matter how much you earn racism still gets to you and it's nothing I would even wish upon my biggest enemies.

What I meant, is not about racism, it’s about popularity. Famous person become an object of different critics. They have to get use to it. Every job and famous profession exposes you to discrimination and racism. Its up to you and your IQ how you going to deal with it. Look at princes Diana live, she died because she was famous. Hami is a rookie, with no experience, let him get use to real fame live.

^^
True but having to face racist remarks and being taunted at your workplace is a bit different from the ordinary stuff one should learn to deal with like criticism.

Believe me, in my wok and place I live I’m expose to discrimination (not to racism) and I know how to deal with. It was my choice when I migrate, but with years of living in emigration (was political at the time) I learn what I can expected. For me racism and discrimination shouldn’t exist and with a new era they will disappear, but there is going to be some not educated people (less and less with a time) to express certain emotional fillings.

Re: BARCELONA, Spain - Lewis Hamilton endured racist taunts from spectators at Formul

Alonso's reply to what happened in Spain

Quote:
Hamilton said in an interview last month that while the two were together at McLaren, Alonso had shown him "just how not to behave as a World Champion".

And the Spaniard believes those comments led to the abuse which upset the Briton and led to widespread condemnation from inside and outside the sport.

He told radio station Cadena Ser: "I didn't take any notice (when he said that), but the very next week they whistled him in Spain for saying that. That's the other side of the situation.

"If you talk like that, it's no wonder they jeer you."

Alonso also claimed the reports of racism at the circuit had been exaggerated.

"If nobody knows exactly what they said to him, it is difficult," said Alonso.

"I haven't seen any of that on the television. If it happened, then it must be strongly condemned, but if it didn't, then it is quite a nasty trick.

"A few of those and the FIA could leave Spain without any races... I won in Monza in 2007 and when I did my lap of honour, the people were making obscene gestures.

"That's sport."

Meanwhile the Spaniard claimed his relationship with Hamilton has not changed.

"It's the same as last year, non-existent," he said.

Alonso also insisted he is happy with his Renault car despite their inability to compete with front-runners McLaren and Ferrari during testing in Barcelona this week.

Alonso, who returned to the French team in December following a controversial season with McLaren, was well off the pace in Tuesday's testing finishing 13th out of 19 drivers.

Yet the Spaniard revealed he expected things to be difficult when he re-signed for the team with whom he won back-to-back World titles in 2005 and 2006.

When asked if he regretted the move to Renault, Alonso replied: "No, not at all.

"When I signed for Renault, or if had I signed for any other team, I knew it was a team which had finished nearly two seconds behind the winning cars in the final race in Brazil.

"I was expecting that at the start of the year it would be impossible to close the gap and have a winning car from the first race.

"People started to raise the expectations too much, but I am where I was expecting to be and I have no regrets," he added.
I do think the headline of the article is a bit exaggerated
