I'm all on for offering value for money and complaining when it isn't is not the same as running down a brand at every opportunity as is the case with Klier. The 'headline grabbing' comment was reference to a certain engine that I also called a technical marvel so I don't see myself running down the brand just not fulfilling it's potential in my opinion.

There's a big difference between constructive opinion and brand bashing in my book but since you disagree that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, just don't expect everyone else to share it.

This is going to be Porsche best seller. It is a matter of time before Porsche makes 3 Series rival, I I wouldn't be surprise by a Porsche hatch, based on A3/Golf/Leon. The sad thing is Porsche has gone down from prestige to premium.

Northern Sweden.

I recognize the Arvidsjaur airport from the pic.
That's the entering point for the most German carmakers. Yet most testing facilities are further to north(-west) around Arjeplog, and some are to the East near Alvsbyn.

Eg. AirBerlin offers regular direct flights to Arvidsjaur - flying there from Munich, Stuttgart & Hannover (close to Wolfsburg). Not a coincidence.

Alas whilst it does indeed look sleek, sporty and pure Porsche in it's design it has now got a much less practical boot so whilst I was originally very keen on this SUV it's boot just won't fulfill my needs now.

Agree with every single word of your post. Before long every man and his dog will be driving one of these.

Instead of going downmarket with the Macan. Porsche should have instead come up with a rival for the E Class/5 Series segment.

The research probably indicated that the Macan had much more potential and was a much better move for Porsche at this time.

But then again, maybe you guys are right and they are completely out to lunch regarding this whole brand management thing.
