    on paper tomorrow!
    "the winning rookie"
" so here is the McLaren, scoring a qualifying laptime.
The MP4 is perfect! perhaps too, sacrificing emotions"
I think the MP4 has made best lap @ Balocco
  4. Switar Member

Mafalda i think best lap Balocco is impossible. In Auto forum Lorenzo said: "one of you made a lap time prevision which is only 0,07 second far from the real". So if we consider the best lap time prevision, 2.42.75, the best real lap time could be 2.42.68. Carrera GT made 2.42.62

    Mmmhm I've missed it

Hopefully we will have the answer tomorrow !

    I've just seen the post
laptime is between 2'43"50 and 2'42"68

    MP4-12C (Auto 2012/06)
    Pirelli PZero Corsa
final price € 250.000 (tested with sport exaust, a lots of CF optionals , superlights rims... but standard brakes)

    1 KM 19.73 @ 268.8 Kph

    100-0 Kph 31.3m
    0-160 81.6m

    final score: 179.5

    Balocco: 2'43"46
(McLaren's team-support was there, as like as Ferrari and Lambo.the hotlap was achieved at the third attempt, using an immaculate set of tires)

    Weight: 1,459 Kgs

    what's good

    ....ALL ;
    incredbly engine
    performances
    goood comfort
    grip & stability
    cockpit

    what's not
    rear-stability during hard-brake @ very high speed
software bugs (Windows strikes back!!) :ROFLMAO:

    MP4 Vs 458 (MY10)
"who is better? it's no easy.
same performances, on track the MP4 is 0.44s faster and less hard to drive at the limit.
good comfort both, but MP4 seems a bit better on rough surfaces. but 458 is more emotional to drive...
curiosity: the 458 has tons of buttons on the steering wheel, Mp4... none! "

    MP4 Vs SLS AMG
"performances? no macth, but SLS is more beautiful and emotional.."

    MP4 Vs Gallardo LP570SL
"MP4 is much more faster and much more comfortable! on track the Gallardo is more amazing to drive, thanks to its engine (sound and explosive power) and setup"

I made the translation of the panel for my blog, here it is (hope not too many mistakes, did it with Google only !). Values between brackets are for the Ferrari 458 Italia (didn't check the Aventador).

    Cabin
The interior gives the feeling of seating inside a single seater, but there are two seats. Truly excellent.
    9.5 (9)

    Dashboard
Well designed and finished, with some original solutions (vertical display); also has ample storage.
    9 (9)

    Habitability
It is necessary to lower the head in order to avoid hitting the door and to step over the body to sit into the car. Without this, the car is comfortable.
    7 (7.5)

    Trunk
In line with other similar cars: the front compartment is generous and usable, and there is some space behind the seats.
    7.5 (7.5)

    Visibility
In front, it is exceptional: the large windshield allows a perfect visibility. Critical, as for the rivals, is the ¾ rear.
    7.5 (6.5)

    Air conditioning
Only three nozzles, but adequate flow and air flow. Very comfortable for uncompromising quality.
    9 (9)

    Quality
Remarkable execution, both in the passenger compartment and for the body work. The materials are of uncompromising quality.
    9 (8)

    Hi-tech
The navigation is optional and the factory system only offers radio and USB iPod. Several times the software went into "freeze."
    6.5 (7)

    Equipment
Complete standard equipment, expandable with higher performance components. A lot of carbon parts available at a high price.
    7 (7.5)

    Price
In line with rivals. It is the only car featuring a carbon shell at around 200 000 euros.
    6.5 (6)

    Engine
The first acceleration takes your breath away. The V8 is explosive at the bottom and can also stretch up to 8500.
    10 (10)

    Acceleration
We were unable to reach the 3”1 promised, but the rush of power is relentless. After 1km, it almost reaches 270kph.
    10 (10)

    Elasticity
The engine pulls with an unbeatable flexibility, which allows you to resume from low regimes very quickly.
    10 (10)

    Top speed
You cannot expect more. It goes with a good momentum uo to 310kph, but requires some patience after…
    10 (10)

    Consumption
Considering what has been used during the trip, the mileage at a constant rate is interesting. Very sensitive to changes in pace.
    6.5 (6)

    Transmission
Very quiet in operation, unlike other rivals. In Track mode, however, lacks a little malice.
    9.5 (10)

    Steering
Well calibrated for any situation: light and with good turning circle for the city, communicative and precise at speed.
    9.5 (9.5)

    Braking
Excellent distances. But the modulation is improvable, the pedal becomes spongy after work, at speed the tail meanders.
    8 (9.5)

    Road handling
Very well balanced, with a little understeer which provides safety and confidence. High lateral grip.
    10 (9)

    Stability
With ESP off, the MP4 is reasonably manageable, if in the hands of a skilled driver with the head on his shoulders.
    9 (8.5)

    Comfort
The level of absorption of the suspension is insane, it seems to be an E-Class. Acceptable noise level.
    8.5 (7.5)

    TOTAL RATING 179.5 (177)

In general we could say that both the MP4-12C and the 458 Italia are the same good but with a different approach. If you don't know which to chose it is easy: MP4-12C and 458 Spider. But you have to find 500K.

Off topic question but I saw an orange MP4 yesterday and the number plate read McLaren. Anyone know who in Northern Ireland might own this car or is it rentable because two weeks earlier I saw the same guy in a Ferrari California and about a month or two earlier there was an orange Aventador about the town too. Odd to see so many supercars so often with two confirmed to be driven by the same guy and possibly the Lambo too.
