I thought we are going to see some dramatic changes at the front and rear... nevermind, S-tronic, the only thing the R8 needed.

Awesome. I like it a lot, exactly what the car needed. A subtle facelift and a new transmission to replace the aging R-Tronic.

I prefer the rear of the pre-FL version myself. Those rear-lights were distinctive. I've never really dug the V10's exhaust, I'd prefer it was more elliptical versus the circular look. But, seriously, these are minor concerns as overall it looks great, futuristic, and very much its own car with its own personality. And coupled with either a the 6-speed or 7-speed S-tronic, things just got more epic. The R8 is just a classic in the making.

Surely one of the most complete automobiles on sale at any price. Truly impressive blend of looks, power, dynamism, daily usability, quality, bang-for-buck and a good dose of hedonism thrown in for good measure.

I prefer the lights of the facelift.

S-Tronic standard on the V10 is interesting too. It would be a dilemma whether or not to go for the 6-speed manual as a no-cost option.

Certainly a Audi I would love to own, drive and enjoy! Betty you lucky man!

So, there you go!
The worlds finest sportscar gets a facelift. And it gets exactly as much as needed. Perfect small touches that keeps the design language untouched. Love what they did with the lights, even though I like the current ones very much. The grille change is hardly visible.
To me, what is most exciting and impressing, is that they improved the engines so much. The R8 V10 S-tronic has the R8 GT figures! I mean 0-100 in 3.6 seconds is pretty massive.
The only thing I dont like, is the massive exhaust pipes, from the GT. They should stay oval like they did before. That's the only thing. Otherwise, I'm happy with what they did!

I did not expect much to be changed. Good thing is that most changes are technical. The lights have a new the enw graphic technology, but I prefer the old design, with four squared rear lights, and in front if the horizontal line would be on the top of the headlight, and not in the middle. Then again, I think I still prefer the oval exhaust tips over the round ones. In any case those are three minor details that don't make the R8 a lesser car.

Very brave by Audi to follow in the path of Porsche who are confident enough about their design to just give new models a "big facelift". It's risky and I'd be intrigued to see what this does for sales though I'd expect the fancy lights to compensate quite a bit. However I wish at least the interior had been reworked to match its Audi contemporaries and concepts:

I like the new R8 badge. It makes this car belong to S/RS and not just Audi.

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951).
