X5 [Spyshots] Next generation BMW X5 (3rd gen) 2015?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
^You seriously believe it to be above the standard set by the RR Sport, this I highly doubt if the regular RangeRover is anything to go by. You might not like its styling but there's no denying the quality in my mind.

Lol. If you believe otherwise you will again be very wrong.

I just look at the current one compared to the regular Range Rover and see it as something in a different league but I hope I am proved wrong on this because its a car that's on my radar next along with the RR Sport.

That is true....and its about who gives most bang for the buck. A lot of options are standard on competition, just to give them an edge. A luxury car is supposed to have certain standard features which make it a luxury car and set its aside from non-luxury cars.

Very true though some of those standard items aren't really necessary.

In my opinion a 'luxury car' must come with leather seats as standard. In US, the base X5 does not come with leather if you do not want to pay for leather seats.

Here's it's pretty well loaded (up to a point) which something I reckon BMW and Audi are getting right for the UK market.

My mom drives a current gen X5. She loves the looks of it, but the minor gripe she had was the interior quality wasn't the same as the Cayenne she test drove. Her lease ends February of next year, and if the next gen X5 looks as good as this one and improves the interior, I have no doubt she'll jump into one again.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the switchgear on the X5 the real difference between it and Cayenne IMO is when you spec full leather on the Porsche, at this point it's perceived quality goes to another level and this is the point I'm making about the RR Sport, full leather transforms the whole feel and look of an interior in my opinion.

The standard Cayenne uses less hard plastic then the X5. Don't get me wrong, the interior is as solid as it was the day we picked it up, but I only wish that it had more of a 'premium' feel to it. The 328xi's now get Heated rear seats standard. That should follow suite with all the X vehicles. It just makes sense.

A look inside.

After seeing the new RR Sport, I feel this new X5 won´t be that exquisite.

This last interior spy pics just proves my point.

BMW's my brand. But I cannot be blind to the obvious and in any case defending the obvious will make me the fool;)

BMW has lost 'richness' in their cabin ambiance. Just that piece of recycled cling film around the steering column is taking, sustainability a step too far BMW - No-No-No! ! !
Spoils solid cabin ambiance, tactile and perceived quality in the F10 5er too, you know - it totally clashes with the rest of what is a class leading cabin, in it's segment IMO.

Sadly it is not the full interior because minimal disguise still covers multiple areas. The interior is as detailed and a quality level as the 5er GT, the surface work on the dash is irrespective of BMWs attention to minimalist surfacing and the good thing is it can optioned with leather.

Just don't fancy the "layering effect" - top of the dash where the screen sits.

Reminds me too much of this...

BMW's interiors are still not world leading. Not that I dislike them, far from that (E8X, E7X) but the interior is not a purchase argument. Must it be one in the "Ultimate Driving Machine"

Perhaps that's a good thing. Would you rather know about the driving experience or the damping of a cup holder?
FYI if you take a seat in the new X1 LCI you can see that BMW has addressed early quality issue especially the much maligned central console.

Customers have changed and care more about the later. What would then be the reason for all the Xs and GTs? The driving part is "obvious" so nobody really talks about it if it is present.

You would be surprised that at least for BMW customers that the driving experience that " is it a BMW" remains the top listed enquiry over interior detailing and LED KonntSmide lighting.

I would like to know more about that enquiry. For whom is that the top importance? Male vs. Female? Age? What does "drving experience" mean for them? Fun to drive? Performance? Ego Feeling?

I guess you don't have the data under hand, but I think you know what I driving at. It is a good indication but can't be 100% correct/exact.
