C-Class (W205) [Spyshots] 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) Spy Photos

The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.

The new C-Class is going to have a good looking profile.
Less wedgy more classic cab-back...

If this is the final product in testing, then it will likely be a 2014 MY. However, from this profile, this looks like the current 204 with some mods. More like a mule. I can't distinquish this profile from the current model, other than you don't see the descending accent line on the side. Without seeing that line, the wedginess virtually dissapears. Looking out the window at a current 204, if you put the tape on and other cover, I can tell little if any difference. Even the clam shell hood lines are the same.

^ Agreed pretty similar. ;)

W205 (top) versus W204 (bottom)

W205 has lower rear door handle.

W205 has smoother more coupé like top rear door roof line.

The W205 seems to retain the "baby S-Class" stance.

I understand those tires may be winter tires, but I'm hoping MBZ put some serious rubber on the back end of their cars.

Any info about the interior yet? And I like the "teardrop" look actually, like the CLS'. Hope this will be a looker too...

Rest assured, thay are quit different. The wedge shape on the new C-Class dissappears with it`s arching CLS-type doorline. The hood is longer...
The wheelbase looks a little longer to. It also has more body mass (with slightly shorter windows) than the W204. The cutline in the hood from the a-pillar is a little different. It also clearly sits more upright.

The bulging W221 S-Class type fender treatment on the W204 C might not make it in the W205...

Yes. but the CLS and CLK were (are) free standing coupes... Thay were not modeled after sedans. The older ones you mentioned were,.. but think about it. The designs of the 124 E-Class sedan for example was so simple and clean
it was very easy to create a coupe from that sedan body style. The designs of the 2011 E-Class and C-class are quit complex and in my opinion are a bit of a challenging to nail in the purity of a coupe.

Just for kickers... the 1993 Mercedes Coupe Concept is what begat the 4-lens face on the E-Class sedan.

1993 Mercedes-Benz Coupe Concept -

The more ironic thing is that both the W210 and the Coupe Concept were patented the same day in early 1993. Here's what I mean:

The design for the W210 was likely approved in late 1991-1992, so while the Coupe Concept introduced the new face, it didn't influence it.

I think the next C class should have a 2.0l turbo 4cyl that can cranks up to 240hp and gives 35mpg for Highway and 25mmg for city. That's the only way to compete with the new 3er. Of course, diesel will help, but the majority will prefer gasoline. Also, from 0-60 should be in the low 7s.

Here in Europe most prefere diesel. Me not.

The tow hook is hilarious. I have never seen a Mercedes-Benz car towing anything, ever. Their SUVs yeah, but the cars never.

Interesting indeed. Good catch. M-B Designers are really gung ho with "alien forms" on the upcoming models.
