I can only pray that outward visibility is as good as this picture illustrates. So many performance cars look like confinement torture chambers, with blind-spots galore!

Isn't that rear glass big enough ? I mean, it's even too big for styling purposes so must be for visibility.

An update.

Mercedes AMG GT to draw cues from the 300 SL that won the 1952 Carrera Panamericana - report

New details are starting to emerge about the highly-anticipated Mercedes AMG GT.

Set to be introduced later this year, the model will reportedly draw inspiration from the 300 SL that won the 1952 Carrera Panamericana (pictured below). While it will eschew the gull wing doors, it will be equipped with a prominent grille that is flanked by LED headlights.

Mercedes has remained relatively quiet about specifications but the car is expected to feature a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that develops approximately 485 HP (357 kW). Our spies have also seen a prototype with a four-tailpipe exhaust system which suggests there could be a higher-end S variant with roughly 550 HP (404 kW).

Despite the impressive performance, the AMG GT is expected to cost approximately £80,000 when it goes on sale in the U.K.

I read that most of the final edition SLS have been sold already.

AMG GT - world premiere at the Mondial de l'Automobile 2014
In September incidentally also starts the C-Class T-Model (S205) at the dealer, which will be celebrating its world premiere at the AMI in Leipzig. By the way for super sports lovers September will be even more interesting: Mercedes-Benz will not publish first pictures of the "AMG GT" series C190 until then. The vehicle is celebrating its world premiere at the Mondial de l'Automobile 2014 in Paris.
