I like that specific rendering from The Welt, nice proportions!

That's pleasantly attractive though the comic tail lights that resembes candy must go.

Calling the GLK a 'big' brother may be the joke of the century.

GLK will probably grow in size in the next generation, expected in 2015, and then be based on the larger new W205 C-Class.
It might also see an increase in price. Then an A/B Class based SUV can slot below, and take its place as MB's entry level SUV.

Lol. That looks pretty stupid but also pretty cool. I'd like to see M-B SUV's look more like square/strong SUV's again, and not Mommy-Vans so much. The G Class should be used as the blueprint for the SUV family again, kind of like that render ^^^^.

Will cute cut it?
For example, the A class is cute. But honestly, a Ford Focus pulled in the lot and it was cute. In fact, I'd say it was as attractive as the A-class if not more. The content is very good in the car. Even the fit and materials are surprisingly nice. And this car sells for about $25k loaded. That's keyless start, nav and more. Is the A-class really going to make an impact in the US market. You have several cars already in this category that offer lots of content for an economy price. The Mercedes brand already screams 'premium $$" to US buyers. So, does a sub compact SUV really fit? Particularly one built off a FWD platform. Again, this segment is already jam packed in the US with vehicles that will be a lot more $$ friendly.

This strategy is building down to the market.

Yes, it works for Nissan, and it works for Honda, because it already fits their demographic. Is that the target Mercedes should be shooting for? Also keep in mind that these 'cute' cars that it works for are going to be priced significantly less than the A-class.

For an M-B, "simply cute" is blasphemy toward all that the brand was built on and stands for.

MB Passion doesn't confirm the latest GLG SUV rumor, and warns it might just be an Autobild speculation. ;)
