Somehow they managed to make the rear lights look even more boring and Taxi-like than the pre-facelfit.... they never should have given the swoopy Coupe the pretty bland yet purposeful taillights of the Sedan. I like the lower diffuser work though.

The front I think is another weak attempt and I'm just not feeling that bendy overtly organic front idiom, as it just doesn't look right nor mesh with the rest of the car (not to mention the grille is too narrow). However, I never liked the pre-facelift front and thought the quad lights looked awkward and not right when trying to be forced on the "E" Coupe, therefore this facelift is definitely more tolerable than the W212's facelift. Problem is, this soft front approach just has no presence when compared to M-B's of yore, even very recent yore. Also, it's interesting that what I assume is the "normal" front bumper looks like a softened up and bendy version of the "old AMG Package bumper".

As for the headlights shape, IMO they couldn't pick a more bland and generic one, which isn't helped by the fact that it looks like M-B ditched architectural supremacy to try and make it look good by heavy use of LED digital graphics, IMO.

Side profile wise, somehow it looks better in these pics than when I see it on the roads. Not sure if it's some trickery or if the changes somehow subliminally enhance said side profile.
 
Omg, whats happened with the coupe! Look at the rear... damn. I liked this car IRL, but in the pics it wasnt THAT good. But with this facelift its even amazing in pics. Very well done. Better than the sedan.
 
So the gearshift is moved behind the wheel, I expect the same with the new C class. Only the manuals will be located on the central console.
 
I"m sure the AMG will still have the gearshift.

It's a beauty. Just wish the original E-Class Coupe was like this.

Yes you are right, the AMGs will keep the gearshift except the S class AMG. But I thought that sport models - coupes and convertibles will keep the gearshift. It looks like only SL, SLS and baby SLS and their derivatives will keep it in the end.
 
This facelift looks better than the E-class. I wonder why they kept those wheelarches for the Coupé and not E-class.
 
The wheelarches always looked good on the coupe, it is much much better looking then the pre fl. Can´t wait till the 4er arrives and Joins the party. E coupe fl, A5 fl and new 4er, it will be an interesting fight !
 
It is interesting that the coupe and convertible keep the E350 cdi with 195kw but the limo and estate have only 185kw, hopefully the new S will present a new V6 turbodiesel with increased output that will go also to E class later on.
 
^Good question. The 6er is to large, to big and the c class to compact short etc. c class coupe and 2er would be in one class. Maybe the next gen e coupe will step up to 6er and the c class coupe to be the rival of the a5 and 4er.
 
I think the importent think is how long they are. I have found this.
