XF Jaguar XF!! Hit or Miss!!

The Jaguar XF (X250) is an executive luxury sports saloon car that was manufactured and marketed by the British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars. Launched in Autumn 2007 as a replacement for the S-Type, the XF was designated internally as the X250. The X250 was succeeded by the X260 in 2015.

Man I wish this was a BMW....

If it was this is how your statement would read -

The interior is spectacular, and the exterior almost makes me drool. `Excellent` fits it well. The front looks like a dream.

:eusa_thin

Why is everything that is not German considered ugly? There is countless thread where you call non-German vehicles ugly. Why? What is behind this hatred?

Yes, the interior is conservative, but calling it ugly? That needs to be explained. Opinion is one thing, but calling it ugly? hmmm...

Please, cut the nonsense will you? Don't try to get into my mind, you're completely wrong. I hate this car because it looks ugly. It looks like a POS Hyundai from the front and the rest of the car is stolen from other cars.

'If this was a BMW, I would call it beautiful'.... what a BS. I like a lot of non German cars. One from Jaguar even, since I think the new Xk is a beautiful car to look at. I just don't like any American cars whatsoever, and most Asian cars. Sorry if that offends you :|

On the one had this car is a non-event. I mean really what in terms of new anything does it bring to the segment? No new tech breakthroughs, engines, etc, we're reduced to talking about the gear selector and fancy moving air vents!

Yet on the other hand, considering what shape Jaguar is in and the likely few hundred dollars they had to make this car, I think they've done a decent job.

Hit or Miss? Won't know for sure till I see it and give it once over. Though I still think even in the pics the front lights are upside down.

When more pictures of this British baby in dark colours many will take back what they have said. I believe it looks just as good as the XK in real life.

I'm sure they will. Because I think people are making a big to do about the headlights. If you notice from concept to production there has been very few exterior changes. So how can everyone go from Love to Hate?

I guess it would be a Hit, but am afraid it will fade just like Rover if the new owners are not capable of developing the brand.

I voted for "Hate It".

I'm a traditional Jag lover, one who would rather see Jaguar keep selling the XJ cars, even if it means it might go bankrupt as a result. The basic shape of the XJ has hardly changed since the late-'60s.

I don't think is a matter of German or not, is the fact that the concept looked so hot and the production version looks like a Hyundai. The headlights are plain ugly. Overall it looks OK, but to bring a company back there going to need more than just OK.

Regarding the interior they played it too conservative. A bit more edgy would have helped. Especially when considering that this car will probably hit the market next year, and will stay on for at least 5 more. Think about when next gens get released. :eusa_thin How will this car stand up to them. :t-hands:
This car had potential, it was on the spotlight, it had the press attention, consumers attention, I mean this could have been something for Jag, but they didn't deliver as expected. I don't have any doubts that the car will salvage some of the problems, but they were given an opportunity and they didn't maximize it. IMO.

Funny how we have so different opinions on the interior design. ;) I personally don't think they could've gone more modern with the interior. Jaguar's design was lagging way behind the competitors before the XF. It seemed like they had freezed their design team to the 90's. The wide use of black plastic and Ford parts just made it worse. So IMHO they succeeded well with the XF.

I think these are some of the things they put as their target:

Revolutionary design (departure from the retro look), still cat-like, dynamic yet elegant lines

High quality interior, very modern high-tech look but still maintaining the dignity of a British luxury car (enough wood, no black plastic parts)

Something to make it stand out from the competitors (the revolutionary gear selector (JaguarDrive), light blue interior lighting etc.)

Some small exterior details could've been better IMO, especially the head lights and wing mirrors but all in all I'm very satisfied with their latest product. :usa7uh:
