E-Class (W124) HUGE Mercedes E36 AMG W124 Comparison (Sedan, Estate, Coupe and Convertible)

The Mercedes-Benz W124 is a range of executive cars made by Daimler-Benz from 1984 to 1997. From 1993, the 124 series was officially marketed as the E-Class. The W124 followed the 123 series from 1984 and was succeeded by the W210 E-Class (saloons, estates, rolling chassis) after 1995, and the C208 CLK-Class (coupés, and cabriolets) in 1997.
Awesome article, thanks! The R129 and the W124 are my favorite Mercedes-Benzes of all time! It is amazing that they were still making W124 Cabriolets in 1997!

I want the Coupe or Cabrio here. I still think I'd prefer a E500 to the the E36 Sedan though.

Wow! I've never known, that there was also an E 36 AMG Convertible! :D Thanks for sharing this comparsion!! :usa7uh:

Given a choice, would you guys have choose the W124 E36 or the W124 E500? :eusa_thin

Definitely the E500 because it is such a legend and because it looks like every other W124 to the person who can't tell the difference (enlarged fender flares etc.). A wolf in sheep's clothing.

But I'd be equally happy with an E36 AMG. The 300E was often praised for its combination of economy and power, so I can imagine that an E36 AMG will be just as economical while at the same time delivering a more thrilling driving experience.

Wow i love the E63 W124's one of my favorite Mercs:D The design is hot:cool: I years to come, we will be reading the comparison of the E92 BMW M3 (Coupe, Convertible, Sedan and hopefully the Touring):D
