M3/M4 BMW M3 GTS is SOLD OUT

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M
That a car of this limited status and price gained a larger customer base in the EU rather than one would expect in the Middle East market.
The SLS AMG for example a large majority of 2010 production is going to the Middle East.

The reason why the Middle East is not going gaga over it is because the car is a............3-Series. Europeans are more known for being discrete and hence the popularity of sheep in wolfs clothing like the RS6 Avant and debadged S600s.

With all due respect Luw, an M3 GTS is about as discrete as an 11 inch woody in loose-fitting, transluscent linen porn-pants.

Only if you buy it in lava orange. In onther colours it can be taken for a 3-Series with a large aftermarket wing. It is not a show piece like similarly priced Astons, Porsches and Benzes. Sure it has an element of loudness to it, but isn't not flashy. The Arab market love flashy.

Like pointed out earlier; the form factor is the key here. Had this been the 760i GTS, Europe would not have been interested.

In this case, however, I had no doubt whatsoever that Europe would go bananas over this. It is a small-ish car, bettered in the tradidional European sportscar manner - better handling and lighter.

If BMW is genuinely surprized by this, maybe BMW should get to know it's customers a bit better? ;)

:happy001: You crack me up Martin!

Seriously, the M3 GTS most certainly lacks prestige (compared to an Porsche GT3 or an SLS, for example). Hence, some of the badge buyers might not be interested, European track addicts on the other hand were. Doesn't sound like a surprise to me.

So I guess the M3 sales are down ?
Who wants to buy a regular M3 when this exsists ?

well well....
a Orange BMW....

Well, I do not think the GTS will steal that much business from the regular M3. Regarding the colour; I love it and it also happens to be a real classic from BMW. :usa7uh:

For others it adds prestige. For some, the SLS is a simple run off the mill production vehicle from MB, lacking any kind of exclusivity other than the price.
And for some the GTS is a simple 3er with a huge wing.

Yes. Will perfectly match the wife's orange Focus ST :D

And if the husband need to bring people with him on a trip, he takes the ST....leaving the wife with the GTS for the groceries..

Eerrrrr :all_cohol

That's my point exactly. To be specific, BMW lacks quite a bit of the prestige other companies are having. No matter how good or exclusive the GTS is, to some it's just a BMW and -- maybe even worse -- just a 3 series. :t-cheers:

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
