Overall they were pretty happy with it. They said how in the past the SLK always gave a "soft impression" but this is now gone thanks to the extremely sporty suspension and steering setup. The newly revamped 3.5 V6 is also more responsive allowing for brisker acceleration and lower midrange times. Interior quality seems to have been improved as well.

On the downside are the usual exorbitant Mercedes prices for the car and for extras. The design was also criticized for some lame reason with virtually nothing written to back up their claim (:t-hands:).

In the end they say: This is now a man's car. :D

Final grade: 1- (A-)

The SLK and SL should both have a banner year for 2008. I'm just anxious to see if the C350 is going to get this engine and a manual for the U.S. market for 2009.

Mercedes always seems to make the facelifted version the best one to buy of a particular model series' production run. Interesting how fit and finish seems to improve with the facelifts yet in a lot of cases the materials and design stay bascially the same.

I can't imagine what the S/CL facelift will be like.
