C-Class W205 [Official] Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205)


The Mercedes-Benz W205 is the fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which was produced by Daimler AG between 2014 and 2021. The W205 C-Class was preceded by the W204 C-Class and superseded by the W206 C-Class. The fourth-generation C-Class was available in sedan (W205), station wagon/estate (S205), coupe (C205), cabriolet (A205) and long-wheelbase sedan (V205) body styles.
Who the F buys manual benzes any way? This is a non problem.. and for those who do they should be punished with less of a good looking interior.

Still in manual it looks better than the competition.

Many people buy manuals here in the EU.
And since you guys have to keep mentioning 'the competition', this car has got nothing on the 3er. People in this class do NOT want a grandpa mobile with old engines and old gearboxes.
This is the same old C class as always before. A non dynamic, small S class. People don't want that, other than MB fans.
 
I'm addicted to manual gearboxes and in the past MB manual gearboxes been sloppy so its understandable why Benz prefer automatic gearboxes, its what they do best.

An astute move by Mercedes. With the trend towards downsizing more and more people are wanting the features and luxury of a higher class in a smaller car.

You really can turn your C into a mini S if you want.

i am already finding it hard to forgive mercedes for the fact that they have SIMPLY shrunk the S in every possible way to the C, such as Air suspension, design, features etc, but now i think mercedes is going really OVERBOARD, i mean, come on diamond pattern interior for a C-class, that is simply outrageous lol...this feature is normally reserved for the most excusive high end luxury cars, and now you can get this in a C, doesn't seem right, as is the case with AIRMATIC.
 
The previous C W204 could also be ordered with diamond pattern leather in designo pack. So it's nothing new.
 
Interesting: I have alway applauded M-B for their STUNNING cutaway photos/technical images and drawings.

One small little mistake from the artist (no big deal) BUT I am sure the W205's not offered with ABC-Struts on the front suspension!!?? @Wolfgang

Naas, maat - what makes you feel that these are ABC struts? Bearing in mind that even steel-sprung W205s will get variable rate dampening (if I read correctly).

IF variable dampers assemblies have covers/boots etc. over the steel springs or covering the steel springs (as in the case of ABC strut assemblies) it's new to me.
If that is not the case as explained, the cutaway does show the coils/steel springs to be covered and the only damper assembly I know to look like that is ABC struts. Also do I know the reason for it being a steel spring of which the damper and rebound rates are hydro-pneumatically 'manipulated' hence the 'sealed' unit.:)

How's that? If you battle to grasp the explanation, I'll PM you in Afrikaans or e-Sesotho :D:p

OMG. BMW and Audi have had it. They're done. This is what people like, not some fantasy about handling and doing a slalom to work in the morning. Best interior going. Even more eye catching than the S-Class IMO.

Your a fool for that post... If you know anything you would know that the gap between the previous C and 3 was the smallest in history in terms of sales, so your fantasy about this car being only for MB fans.. well think again. People in this class? that's like around 3-4 million sales in this class each year..klier knows what everyone wants.. lol!

We will see what's dynamic when the new C63 beats the brakes of the m3 ;)
And **** dynamic.. recent MBs have all been praised for their steering and fun factor..much more so than BMW products.. especially when it comes to AMG vs M.

Normal Mercedes cars are meant to be comfortable, and luxurious. Not spartan and sporty like BMWs.. different philosophy.
Fun thing is that when they both dial it up to 11 ( AMG and M models) Mercedes seem to master that in terms of shear driving pleasure way better than BMW these days..

You said it, MBs are comfort machines, and their MTs are nothing special, just a normal MT. So the changing of gears is more of a labor than a fun factor in a Mercedes, hence the comfort oriented approach, there is no reason to buy a MT Mercedes.

If you addicted like you say you are..mercedes is not for you.. and i guess you never owned one ( to my knowledge).
For your young racing heart there is only AMG products, and if you were to spend that much money, im sure there is some BMW M with a an MT( if there are any left) that wets your appetite.

So your opinion on a standard benz is to me worth as much as a deaf persons take on a new album.

Your take on a hot hatch i value more.


They know that this car is stunning so now all ridiculous, hater comments are coming out. Amazing how silly this nonsense about steering when BMW dropped the ball with steering and are getting beat left and right by other cars that are more fun to drive. Yet Mercedes is getting knocked for something they've never proclaimed to be a master at. It is typical hater BS. The designo interior is better than nearly anything BMW makes. It kills the 3 and 5-Series quite easily.

I drive a Fiesta ST, not BMW or Mercedes. For obvious reasons. Some facts are obviously hurtful .
 
seems like the C63 will get the steering wheel mounted gear lever. The front tires are 245/35 ZR 19, so the rear ones could be at least 265, maybe 275.
