Range Rover Sport Range Rover Sport (L494)

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport, generally known as the Range Rover Sport, is a mid-size luxury SUV produced by Land Rover, later Jaguar Land Rover. The first generation (codename: L320) started production in 2005, and was replaced by the second generation Range Rover Sport (codename: L494) in 2013, which was replaced by the third generation Range Rover Sport (codename: L461) in 2022.
Had a bit of space time today and decided to build the RR Sport, comparing to the current X5 to see it was competitive. Well I was shocked to see spec for spec the RR Sport was a little cheaper.

Who'd a thought and that's with leather everything and air suspension.

I've been building one over and over since the configurator went up. I LOVE this RR Sport, and I haven't even seen it in person yet. I will see it in person Friday!!! Question is does the V6 have enough pull as to negate the need for the V8?

Either of the two diesel outputs serve up 0-60mph in 7.1s and 6.8s respectively, in my opinion this is plenty quick enough for 99% of situations you'll ever need on a public road, sure we would all like more but its still a big, long and top heavy SUV and more poke is wasted for the most part.

We don't get the diesels here, at least not yet. I will test drive the V6 supercharged model to see how it is sometime this summer.

I've yet to hear from the dealer as to when demos will become available here but if you are first I'll eagerly wait for your report.

too bad they didn't develop 'Active Ugly Control':

It's no wonder there are very few if any shots of the R/R Sport's rear, especially square on. It really is terrible.

^I actually think it has about the prettiest rear of all SUVs with the Evoque second and the RangeRover third.

I just dont get the hype over these damn Range Rovers.
I think they are disgustingly ugly when it comes to the rear.

It so bad that it puts me off the whole damn truck..

Let's be realistic here. You can criticize its engines, chassis, technologies, performance and handling as much as you want. But you can't call it ugly!

^of course you can..

Its ugly :D

PS
Seriously though its up to tastes.. so anything can be ugly/beautiful..depends on the person

PPS
I hate the image it brings to..its like obnoxious and it has that sense of :
OHH i want that cause everyone else that has (read: acts likes they have) money has one.
So i have to follow suit to fit in.
I associate this with designer clothes with huge logos, plastic surgery, fake attitudes..all that is wrong with the world more or less:D

Overreaction and out!

And yet until Kilcrohane or anybody drives one, looks are about the only thing he can comment on. It doesn't mean his thoughts are more correct than somebody else's, but at least he has all the evidence he needs.

When people start saying x drives better than y even thought they have absolutely no basis for this opinion, then it starts to get a bit silly.

That's the thing about about the internet. Everybody can shout their opinion even if it's based on absolutely no first hand experience.

Apart from a handful of Mod's and Contributing Members, Betty is our most rational member:)

Inbetween there is the thinkers, realists, fanboy's and the 'unreal' members etc.

At the opposite end of the scale we have the Levi68 section:p:D Levi68, gotta love him though!

So EVO weighed the car at around 2450kg with half a tank of fuel, how heavy was the old RR sport?
