M5 In the market for an F10 M5!

Hey guys, what's up

So I'm this close to importing a used 2012 M5 with 15 000 kilometres on the odo from Germany to Sweden. Anyhow, the salesman told me the engine was changed at around 1200 km because of early model lemon problems. No information could be given about the details at that time. I sort of smell a rat and I was wondering if you guys knew what was faulty about the early S63TU engines? Was it central mechanical issues, injection, exhaust, electronics or what?

There is also a slight confusion about the stereo seeing as my German isn't all that great.

What I'm looking for is the HiFi-System Professional and even though they claim this is what the car is equipped with, I want to be able to check it when I see the car. How can I determine whether it's got it or not? What do I look for, i.e. speaker appearance, looks, sound, settings etc?

I think it was oilcooling problems? I can't remember but I think there was some kind of small scale recall on early M5s.

Som sagt, omöjligt att veta vad som egentligen var problemet och om det är åtgärdat.

Unless you are getting a really sweet deal, let's say something like 55k euros, walk away...

Warranty is still valid, but for how long, another year? And as it's imported you won't get the free service plan that you'd otherwise get. On top of that, third hand value?
Even with a really good deal(which would be another reason for question marks) I'd give it a really hard thought.

Here's the layout of the 16 speaker system. Smaller configurations are 6 (4,5,8,12,15,16) or 12 (1,2,3,4,5,8,9,11,12,15,16,17) speakers. Should be pretty easy to figure out which setup it is just by listening. Maybe it's even possible to see the amp by fiddling around in the boot.

Seriously, my friend, stay away from it! At 85k you can find far better examples!

Point taken. I'm not so sure about finding another one as one of my main preferences is the extended merino silverstone leather. Let me try to look objectively at it. What are the downs of changing the engine properly?

So I am now a proud owner of an F10 M5. Not the mentioned one though. Anyway, the M5 badge on the trunk lid is missing and I was wondering if anyone of you guys have the measurements to where this badge should be put on the lid or if you can point me in some direction? I will let professionals put the badge on of course but I want to check if it has been done correctly. Thanks

I was just looking on mobile.de, and it appears there is a great choice of used 2012 M5s for 75.000 eur, sold by official BMW retailers, and with less then 15.000 km on odo ..

Also, as l can notice, the link u left us still has this black M5 with changed engine active on their page, l quess you just walked away and bought another one?
