Senna did the same. Prost did it to Senna. Hamilton did it to Glock. Webber did it to Massa. Schumi did it to Webber. Alonso did it to Massa...etc etc.

It happens. MS has always been that sorta driver since the beginning. I don't think he'll ever change. While i admit it was a rather naughty move, it didn't deserve a penalty. And MS didn't break any rules, as far as i'm concerned.

Rubens was on fresher tyres, saw a gap and went for it. When he saw MS started closing the door, he had an option to fall back or go for it. He went for it and i applauded, but his whining was nothing new. He always complains. I will never forget what he did for Ferrari, but he's always complaining.

I don't see an issue of the penalty, if the FIA deemed it was a penalty. But i just wish they'll be more consistent with their penalties. Not let off Webber-Massa a few years ago at Fuji, let off Alonso-Massa and then punish MS for this.

Martin Brundle did say when he was racing with Senna, Senna always position his car in a way that it is up to the other driver (attacking or defending) to determine he wants to have an accident or not. What MS did was a bit too dangerous, and even as a MS supporter, I will say that penalty is a fitting punishment.

On the side note, looks like Webber is looking for sponsorship from Gillette i think..

He will need a few packs of blades to cut down all that stuff on his face. Vettle might need some as well.

history is written by the winner, or the winners' fans. All these comments just depend on which side you're standing. Like Remy said, these moves have been done a million times before. It's racing damned, not a charity event. Sportsmanship shouldn't get in the way of winning. It's like the tour de france, when schleck got mechanical faillure ( read, stupidly chose the wrong gear ) contador drove off, but afterwards he had to friggin' apologize because it was against the unwritten rules of the sport.

Maybe it's because he's German. Senna did the same, but he was latino so it's passion and fire and dedication. Schumi is german, so it's calculated, brutal, invading poland ...

I'm not trying to convince people, a fanbase and prejudice and devotion are as much a part of sports as sports itself. Just try to keep this in mind.

And those who thought schumacher was gonna win this wioth a new team, in the first year, seriously diluting themselves or knowingly slamming schumacher now that they have the chance. Even with Ferrari it took years.
I'm thinking next year a first decent try, and in 2 years the real test.

This is definitely a personal opinion. I respect everyone's opinion. Ok sure, they gave him a grid penalty. Why i'm baffled is, why didn't give grid penalty to say Webber, when he pushed Massa into the wall at Fuji back in 2008? There wasn't even an investigation.

Then there's the Hamilton-Petrov incident at Sepang which was pure BS IMO. Hamilton was reprimanded (iirc), which was silly to me. Which part of it was dangerous, i have no idea. Yet, there was lots of whispers in the paddock that Hamilton's a dangerous driver. I don't see his Sepang drive a dangerous one.

These guys are champions. Thats the difference between MS and Rubens. Rubens is Mr. Nice Guy. Mr. Nice Guy never even wins the girls, how does he expect the WDC then?

To quote MS directly : "I'm known not to give presents on the track. If you want to pass me you have to fight for it, and so it was [here]."

Michael Schumacher has apologised to Rubens Barrichello for his driving during the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday. The seven-time champion was given a ten-place grid penalty for the Belgian GP after squeezing Barrichello against the pitwall on the main straight as the Brazilian tried to pass him during yesterday's race.
The move angered Barrichello, who was critical of Schumacher's driving.
Schumacher said after the race that he did not feel he had done anything wrong.


However, on Monday the Mercedes driver said he agreed with the stewards' decision and apologised to Barrichello if the Brazilian felt his driving was dangerous.
"Yesterday, right after the race I was still in the heat of the action, but after I watched the incident with Rubens again, I must say that the stewards were right with their assessment: the move against him was too hard," Schumacher wrote on his website.



"I wanted to make it hard for him to pass me. I clearly showed him that I didn't want to let him pass but... I wasn't seeking to endanger him with my move. If he feels I was then I'm sorry, this wasn't my intention."

I don't like the penalty to MS either, it's much too severe.

Sure it was a little much, but it's racing and it's commonly done.

Schumi deserved the penalty, he's been testing the stewards for too long. Even in Australia he was wrecklessly defending his postion agains Kubica, cutting the final chicane in an attempt to block any possibility of anyone passing him. Thankfully he got mugged by both Renaults during the final lap. But int he end, this is the bi-product of Schumi's competativeness. Rubben's got a taste of a similar overtaking him in Brazil 2009 when Hamilton used KERS to position himself tightly between Rubbens and the pit wall.
