Except the side mirrors.

And they don't seem to flow with the design in my opinion.

I think this was discussed in a thread about the BMW 635d and then it was about a diesel SL. I think a car like a CLS 420 CDI would stand a much better chance today than it did just a few years ago.

CLS doesn't even need a facelift in my eyes.

Re: Mercedes CLS Facelift (Spy pics & info)

I agree. I've always wondered what they could or would do come facelift time. The V8s aren't scheduled for any power increases so all the real change will be with the CLS350 getting the new and improved 350 engine. Everything else they've done is just window dressing really. I was hoping for a CLS600, but of course not. I wonder if the U.S. will get the CLS350 since it will have the same hp as the original CLS500?

Re: Mercedes CLS Facelift (Spy pics & info)

Sound good, but I hope that the "3 spoke steering wheel" will not have the design of the SLK and C-Class one. That would be absolutely horrible. But it's great that there are only such little changes, because there are a lot of used CLS around - so for everyone who like the prefacelift version, there is still the chance, to drive the "old" one!

Is that the full command system, shouldn't it come with 6.5" display? The Birdview should be useful, I thought MB had it and then removed it.

Re: Mercedes CLS Facelift (Spy pics & info)

Thanks for all these information!! But this steering wheel is absolutely horrible!! Where is the elegance of the prefacelift CLS? It's just ... sorry, but then I like the current CLS most!! I also dislike the "white" instruments. It looks perfect on the E-Class Avantgarde, but it doesn't harmonise to the CLS, in my opinion!! The new exterior is great, but the interior is definitely "disimproved"!

Re: Mercedes CLS Facelift (Spy pics & info)

Yeah I have to say I don't like that MB is putting this steering wheel everywhere. It appears the SL facelift is going to get it too. Must be a cost cutting measure, cutting down on the number of steering wheels being made. Yuck, but oh well MB is doing so much right now something had to give.

This could be the reason for this "move"! But it's sad, because every car has its own character (interior and exterior) and I'm not that happy, that every car will get the same steering wheel. It's also a way of differentiation and this isn't given anymore, when every Mercedes has the same type of steering wheel.

Yeah I know what you mean, but back in the day they all pretty much did, of the bus-size variety..lol. The 201, 124, 126, all had the same wheels for years it seems, only different sizes toward the end of their respective production runs.

Right, I can remember. But the fact is, that I don't like the new steering wheel. But there will be possibilties to change it - nevertheless I don't have the money to buy a Merc at the moment - so it doesn't really affects me!

Here is a close up of the door mirror which has not caused as much comment as I thought it would. It doesn't show up very well on the leaked CLS AMG 63 pictures.
