Chrysler Sebring Coupe-Cabrio

…And on the 6th day, Chrysler said, “I shall make a Sebring with an electric folding hard roof.” So they made one. And Chrysler saw the Sebring Carbio, and thought it was good. As for what everyone else thinks, we’ll find out in a couple of days at the L.A. Auto Show. The Sebring Cabrio is equipped with a three-piece retractable hard top that folds into into the trunk in under 30 seconds. According to Chrysler, it is three inches longer than the Sebring saloon and there is luggage space for four golf bags with the roof up and two golf bags when the roof is retracted.

Like its sedan counterpart the cabrio will be available with three power plants: a 173 Hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder, 189 Hp 2.7-liter V6 and a 235 Hp 3.5-liter V6 coupled with a new six-speed automatic transaxle with Auto Stick. In Europe the Sebring Cabrio will also be available with a 140Hp 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Rumor has it that the almighty creator Chrysler will also put into production a cheaper version of the new Sebrin Cabrio equipped with none other than that old “rag top”. Sales in the U.S. are expected to begin in early 2007 and mid 2007 in Europe.

I like the way the new Sebring line looks, very fresh. This coupe cabrio will be a nice addition for Chrysler.

I don't like how now the all the new hardtop convertibles have the same cut lines. The sebring, volvo, and 3 series all have that ugly horizontal cut line in the back and the cut lines in the tops look ugly as well.

Thanks for posting Martin :usa7uh:

The overall vehicle doesn't bother me that much, but one particular styling detail does and it's those strakes on the bonnet. Chyrsler's own Crossfire has them too and i can't say i'm too fond of them. If i recall correctly those strakes are there to recall an older Chrysler model but i can not remember the exact model.

LOL, horrible.

Cars like this one show how incredible the 3er CC really is....imo.

Well, at least the American midwest will look less "roundy" now. For what it's worth, it's a decent looking car, but I just feel as though the effect they were shooting for didn't quite come through.

I think it looks horrible. The roof looks like an absolute tack-on.
