The ADAC BAVARIA HISTORIC RALLYE is one of the major mobile classic car events in which oldtimers and youngtimers alike participate in friendly "racing" throughout Bavaria. This years event was going to pass through Mühldorf am Inn and I was there to photograph some sweet machines.

The cars enter Mühldorf am Inn through the Münchner Tor (Munich Tower), pass through the Stadtplatz and exit through the Altöttinger Tor (Altötting Tower) at the other end. The little map here shows you where this event took place. I even marked my house!

This will incidentally be one of my last major picture threads. I feel that I could use my free time for other things since the preparing and uploading of pictures takes too much time and I feel that these threads are too poorly visited and too little appreciation is shown to make it worth my while.

This looks like one of those Bentley 6.5 liters from the 1920s. Check out the Toyota Camry in the background - it was one of the most "exotic" cars present on that day!

No idea what this car is but it has to be Italian. Perhaps some experts here can tell us what they think it might be.

Another Jaguar XK. There will be more shots of these babies since they're very lovely.

You gotta be kidding! I consider those picture threads as a gift to our community and should definitely be continued! I hope that a lifetime membership with free beers to my bar could change your mind! :D

They are a gift to the forum but I feel that I am getting nothing out of it. Look at this thread. Only 12 views?

These picture threads are a lot of work because I need to resize the pictures, edit them in some cases and upload all of them and I feel like I am doing them for nobody as I am getting no exposure for my work. I used to be enthusiastic about this stuff but when I post these threads and there's no activity here then my enthusiasm wanes and I feel I am wasting my time doing these threads for an audience that doesn't care.

Please understand my position. :t-cheers:

PS: No news yet from the local Oldtimer Club about the Opel Kapitän spare parts you're asking about. :usa7uh:

Ok mate, i understand your position. I just tried to change your mind, but i see you are very realistic..

PS. About the capitan, i just don't have any time these days, i am stuffed up with work, work and university, so i don't have time to deal with this.. I hope i will have some free time this weekend! I have not spoken to my guy for more than a month... I am f-ed up.

Maybe it's an idea to post these threads in the Pit....there are much more people over there...???

Christian, perhaps try narrowing and selecting your absolute favorite pictures to post and if people would like more they can ask. Also maybe post everything in one thread as opposed to 2 or 24, that way everybody could see everything at one as opposed to looking through twenty different threads, which consequently would probably result in much more views and comments.

Just my two cents because I am sure many people appreciate the pictures and the effort.
:t-cheers:

Thanks for sharing. But what's up with all these car events in your town? You've got stuff going on every month.

Thanks for the input and advice. :t-cheers:

Klier: I would post them there but this section is called Car Picture Threads and I am basically just posting this thread where it belongs. I used to have my latest threads in my signature but it was always a hassle updating it and I figured in the end it wasn't very effective since I was posting thread after thread at a rapid pace. :usa7uh:

Choleric: I do. I select the best images and post them in these threads. I know you what you mean though, NARROWING IT DOWN SOME MORE. Good advice. :t-cheers:

Centurion: Anytime. :) Yep, we have a lot of classic car shows in this area. I honestly can't keep up! :D

And guys, please don't take this the wrong way but I will still post picture threads, but not these long and large ones that take up a lot of time. :t-cheers:

I believe that red car with the white stripe is a british car- a Bristol-Arnoldt or something like that.

1953 Arnolt-Bristol Bolide - according to the participant list. ;)

Wimmer - I've enjoyed your classic car threads, but recently I've been too busy to even check them out properly. You obviously put a lot of effort in them and they've been a pleasure to read, but unfortunately it seems that most of the people here are only interested in newer cars.

Thanks for posting these. Looks like a great event. And right in your neighborhood! That's too awesome. :)

This is the case on most auto forums sadly. Nobody seems to appreciate classic or older cars anymore. Somebody claims they're a BMW or Mercedes fan but in reality the only cars they look at are from M or AMG. That's not what makes a real car enthusiast IMO. :(

Well, it's what floats everyone's boat I guess....
I personally 'hate' almost all old cars, I can't even call them classics. For me it's all about current and upcoming cars.

I think older cars need to be appreciated. Without them, you favorite car company wouldn't be what they are today. Older cars are evidence of what these guys did many years ago and it's also proof that they kept improving their successive products. :t-cheers:

Sorry Wimmer, don't agree.
Old cars look ugly, feel ugly, smell ugly, are unsafe and hurt the enviroment :D

I agree about the improving part though, but classics are too old for anything. Relics of an ugly past :t-cheers:
