hi,

today I saw new BMW 1.16 3 door in alpin white on street and I am sick :D

I am not used my baby Mercedes C 180 SC -for its design style- and begin to think sell before too late and buy BMW 1.16 3 door automatic

I use 2005 Mercedes C 180 SC facelifted version, it is full+full , automatic, xenon, Evolution sport packet, in warranty , 15000 KM, ObsidianSchwarz ..

it is my first car I have not drove any car except this. for my 2 years experience handling, driving, automatic gearbox are excellent. buy I say I do not like its design especially rear side . if I sell it , I will have plus about 10,000 EURO in my pocket.

C 180 143 HP----1.16 115 HP

What do you say , experts cawimmer, ree and the others ?

is it good deal ? :t-crazy2:

Wel ismeto, I know nobody likes the SC here, and everybody praises the 1-Series. I disagree.

For me, the SC is much more like a big car, more luxurious, much better finished. You really feel like you're in a big car, spacious, very comfortable. The design, well, I like it.
For me, the 180 motor is its drawback, I never drove it but it seems not to be very refined. I did drive mainy times a SC 220cdi, I like it. Really pleasant and comfortable.

I also drived a 1-Series, 120d and one with a little petrol engine, 118i I think)
The finish is... not really bad, but really not good. This is not a premium car from this point of view, contrary to the FL Mercedes.
The drive is...hard. If you're looking for comfort, try another car. If you like it sporty, well...the 1.6 is a bit...small for it I think. The mercedes is also much more powerfull (but not heavier).

Concerning the look, the 1-Series is really awful to my eyes. The side is twisted like a banana, the eyes are way too big, the rear is massive and inelegant... The interior has grey bad looking plastics...No harmony.

I don't like the 1-Series.
I like the SC much better. Because I like comfortable, relaxing cars that drive well. And I find the look original, classy, much better than the cartoonish, excessive, caricatural 1-Series with its awful giant lights...

I however know it is hype here to destroy the SC, and that everybody seems to think that the 1-Series is a sort of marvel...Don't know why...

Save your money, keep your Mercedes.

Just my two cents.
:t-cheers:

Hi ismeto!

First of all I have to say, that I've never driven a C-Class SC or 1-series.

Personally, I'm not that great fan of the Sportcoupé - nevertheless it isn't a bad car, like coolraoul already mentioned. Your C 180 is two years old now...and I don't know if you would be that happy with a 116i. It's not that the car is underpowered or it would have a bad handling, but in my opinion you should keep your C-Class for a while.
Maybe, Christian can give you a tip - he has already driven the 1-series and many different C-Classes - I think, he can better compare both cars.

Do you? I don't see any difference between the two versions!
Anyway, you should test drive it to make you an idea on how it drives, if you prefer it to your Benz, if the motor is enough for you.

Hi, I own a 120i facelift. The ride is good and the steering feel is great. The interior materials are great, the facelift did a lot of good stuff for the interior.
I think 1er is the only new bimmer that has a driver oriented dashboard. Today I drove 180km/h on the freeway and the car is very stable at high speeds.

My only complaint with the 1er is the runflats, they make noises. I will replace my runflats with normal tires.

And about 116i, the 116i is getting a new engine (more power, better fuel consumption) so wait for the new engine.
Also I would like to recommend 118i (143hp, just like your Benz) instead of 116i, doesnt cost much more and is just as fuel efficient as the 116i.
