You are very right Martin, it is very art-deco. The looks aren't tradition a'la Diablo, Zonda or SLR. It isn't a "15-minute in the spot light car" and VAG did a great job designing it. For 1.5 million euro the car better doesn't resemble anyone car on the market, and that's exactly what the Veyron doesn't.
Both the interior and exterior design is quite retro, sexy. It also looks very mature, especially thank to the hidden wing.
Despite that the shape of the car and the width does give it a very mystic look. Most people spotting it on the streets would even know what it is, it looks like a concept car but is at the same time a sleeper. Looking at doesn't appear to be faster than the CGT and LP640, very understated. Overall you can't ask for more when it comes to the design. The interior is unmatched by any other car, although the exterior is a matter of hate or love.
