Wiesmann GT To Get Meatier

Wiesmann are understood to be debuting a new powerplant for their awesome GT at this year’s Frankfurt Auto Show. We told you last year that the Dülmen based company was in talks with BMW to use the Bavarian’s award winning 507bhp 5.0L V10 as found in the mighty M5 and M6 - well they’ve sealed the deal.

I've been waiting for this sucker for a while. Mark my words, this will be an awesome supercar.

Agreed!

And i see it took them quite a while to convince BMW about to give them V10 Power...;)

Yup. I can certainly understand BMW's reluctance to give away such a special engine.

It'll be good publicity though, especially as I believe Wiesmann is to limit production on this V10 MF4. Not sure of the exact number of units though.

Wiesmann considering the blitz: GT might get BMW 510 hp V10

The Wiesmann GT is about to get a mad, bad engine to match its mad, bad looks. Available since inception with BMW's 362 HP V8 that gets it to the six-oh in 4.6, the niche maker from Muenster is said to be considering a variant that hides the M-edition five-liter V10. If Wiesmann didn't alter the car in any way, it would be an instant boost of 148 HP for a car that weighs quite a bit less than 3,000 pounds. That would raise its performance -- and its handling -- from 'more than adequate' to 'absolute nutter.' There's a chance the car could do its first meet-and-greet at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month.

I'm not sure where to post this.... after all it has 'BMW V10 inside'..and that all that counts ;)

Re: Wiesmann MF5 GT

^^ Absolutely. In my humble opinion, one of the best cars to come out in a long time.

Wiesmann is a manufacturer with much integrity; amazing craftsmanship, quality to the highest of standards and superb running-gear. It's truthfully a car which isn't some blazen kit-car with poor quality and bumpy race car characteristics.

Re: Wiesmann MF5 GT

It´s incredible how this car looks, considering design wich calls for past times:bowdown: .Looking at this exlample,I´m wondering how there aren´t more cars like this one.Timeless design,BMW drivetrain,hand-built quality..You can´t do much better than it is.

Re: Wiesmann MF5 GT

Honestly, I prefer the styling of the MF4, but I'll save final judgement when I see a proper colour.
