M3/M4 a "//M" azing BMW BATTLE! (M6, M3,M5 etc.)

The BMW M3 is a high-performance version of the BMW 3 Series, developed by BMW's in-house motorsport division, BMW M GmbH. M3 models have been produced for every generation of 3 Series since the E30 M3 was introduced in 1986. The BMW M4 is a high-performance version of the BMW 4 Series automobile developed by BMW's motorsport division, BMW M, that has been built since 2014. As part of the renumbering that splits the coupé and convertible variants of the 3 Series into the 4 Series, the M4 replaced those variants of the BMW M3. Official website: BMW M

I know there are tons of BMW M fans out there and this will be the poll for you. There are several BMW M models, please pick, which one you like best.

The Choices are:

(regular 3 series pictured)

or

Since there is no M7 I thought I would add this for 7 series performance fans.

Questions -

1. Why do you feel your pick is the best //M?
2. What factors put it over the others?
3. What color would you get it in if you were to purchase it?
4. Which one would be the runner up?

I went against all logic to pick the M3- my rationalizations are speculative rather than factual considering the fact that the M3 is not released yet, and its drivability and characteristics are still considered as unknown.
So without knowing much about the M3 why did the I choose the M3?

1. My experience with the E90 330i is nothing but pure pleasure, and I can say with a fair degree of confidence that the M3 will surpass whatever pleasure I get from the 330i based on the feeling I got when I test drove the 335i.
2. What factors put it above the rest? See (1) above. It will no doubt in my mind be a nimble mean spirited car (trust me these are good qualities). It is practical (E90 M3)from the price-performance-usage point of view. M5 will be too expensive for me, and the M6 does not qualify as a family car.
3. Colour: Alpine white or Metallic Silver will be nice thank you.
4. Runner up will be the M5: a devil in disguise.

M5 is my choice:D

1.My pic is not the best M..the best M should be the M3 imo.. but the M5 looks the best
2. The looks.. and the room inside
3. There was this indivduall colour.. lord help me it was hot..it was between black and dark purple..cant remember the name..
4.M3 just cause its the most M.. lol.. so sad that it doesent have the looks..

M5; i don't need and i don't want to explain why, done that thousand times.

Hint: i drive 535d with M package and i'm a married man with 2 kids.

:t-cheers:

M5..... ultimate family sedan... looks the goods and the updated interior is best in class IMO

that and the V10 under the bonnet

I picked the M3 because while it has less power than the M5 (although it may not be slower because of lighter weight, we'll have to wait for performance testing) it's lighter weight will make it more fun to drive IMO. One criticism I see leveled against both the M6 and M5 is their weight. I like the M3 exterior better as well. While I'm not totally crazy about the power dome on the M3's hood, I'm not crazy about the headlights on all 5er cars. Even when I owned a 545, I never quite warmed to the headlights. I did love every other part of the car though.

A real hard choice, I would have gone for the M5, but the M3 in white I saw looked so awesome, I just had to go for that!

Can't wait to see pics of the sedan version, that's gonna look hot!

My pick is new M3 for many reasons...For example,V8 engine derived from bigger brother(or sister) wich is basicly masterpiece,it is a coupe(ideal form of 3-series so far) and it looks so damn evil compared to other members of M family:bowdown: !!

1. I chose the forthcoming M3 Coupe for too many reasons to mention, the most notable being the technical tour-de-force engine with eight individual throttle bodies combined with the original, unstressed high revving concept. The fact that this engine is available with a manual transmission is the clincher over its S85 engined rivals. I may not be faster but I'll certainly be more involved - for me that's always been a key decider as I consider myself an active driver who relishes the chance to master the control of a dynamic, high performance vehicle.

2. The unmatched combination of power and agility is what sets this M car apart from its siblings. It also looks far better than anything else here...

3. White

4. M5. Ok, I'll force myself to pull back on the left paddle and have the engine blip the revs for me on the way down through the 'box of the greatest sports saloon ever. 373 kW V10 masterpiece? Twist my rubber arm.

The Man!

Not really a M fan at all, but....

My Pick: M5

Questions -

1. Why do you feel your pick is the best //M? Because it's a sedan, and it drives nice
2. What factors put it over the others?M trim looks better then the others and I prefer coupes over sedans.
3. What color would you get it in if you were to purchase it? Black
4. Which one would be the runner up? The B7 7 series

Z4M Coupe

1. The best? It's certainly my favourite. In my humble opinion it showcases most everything an M car should have - sporty chassis, high revving straight six, conventional manual, etc

2. Mostly looks, but the fact that it has a straight six and boasts a conventional manual certainly helped.

3. Titanium

4. Alpina B7

My choice:

1. Why do you feel your pick is the best //M?
Both luxury & power in a decent sedan cloth :D

2. What factors put it over the others?
Everything in stock M5 is just enough :usa7uh:

3. What color would you get it in if you were to purchase it?
Black or silver

4. Which one would be the runner up?
Alpina B7 :D

Im so glad I havent voted yet. M5 is the only car AMG hasnt beaten yet, the new M3 is already bye bye and gone....C63 just replaced the M3.

My vote goes to M5.

Z4M Coupe for me given my age (28). I love the way it looks...I love the 6cyl motor...I love the Z4 design...and all that under the M-badge with M-treatment...makes me choose the Z4 M Coupe...

Actually, If I were to re-vote, I would choose the B7.

Like ree, I have great appreciation for it. :usa7uh:

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
