hopefully one of you guys can translate this test for thanks in advance.

Sorry, but I refuse to translate anything from that 'car show'. :D

In short, the Audi trumps because of being 40k EUR cheaper and way sportier than the Maser. I'm so glad that they finally found a car the Audi can destroy in a comparison, even if it needed to be one from a completely different class. :)

Best regards,

cant help but to take a shot huh? thanks for the info though

Seriously, that was one of the most insane comparisons I've ever seen. It's pretty bold to compare the RS5 with the Gran Turismo S to begin with, but it's crazy to stress the significant price difference in the process over and over again.

It's not surprised that the comparison tests that the RS5 faces are poles apart because no two people can agree on what kind of car the RS5 is. One thinks it's a sports coupe like the M3, while another thinks it's a Grand Tourer that needs to be compared to the Maserati.

If you view it as something that marries both roles then your opinion starts to change and you start to believe it's actually one hell of a machine. :D

All the reviews says it rides worse than M3, so no, it doesn't make a better GT either.

I get that, but both have v8 though, and are similar in horsepower figures. Do you have quam with the publication? or do you hate to see the rs5 win a comparison?:eusa_thin

Can't resist donkeykong. The point made was that it is not sensible to compare the RS5 with a car like the Maserati Gran Turismo S, and then make the Maserati's cost the descriminator in the comparison.

That logic could be applied to less expensive cars in a comparison with the RS5. How about the new Mustang GT, no contest if you weight costs heavily, Mustang GT easily.

That's the point here. And for the record, I really like the RS5.:t-cheers:

I get the price difference man, but both cars have similar specs... I saw a comparison between the m3 and mustang 5.0 and did nt think that was an outlandish test either. its cool yo both your points remain understood. :usa7uh: besides how many comparisons have we seen between cars like the nissan gtr and 911 turbo there a huge price gap there as well. I agree, the price difference shouldnt provide an edge when determining a winner.

Actually, I'd much rather have the RS5 than the Gran Turismo. No doubt.

I've yet to read a UK review which suggests this, all of them highlight the fact that the Competition pack on the M3 makes it bone jarringly poor if suspension is set to sport mode.

So someone must be telling fibbles. ;)

I read it as well several times now from the tests posted in this forum, M3 rides better than both RS5 and C63. You are well aware of EDC and it purpose. There is more than just a sport mode.

Now, with that said, this is a thread about RS5 and Massa, not M3 so let's continue without a BMW. Thanks.

What a dumb comparison. I'm sure the RS5 will do just fine in a comparo against the Maser. So what? The GT is the nicest car on the road IMO, It'd win my Vote with even 300 HP. Lol.

Just_me,

I appreciate that mentioning the M3 usually kills the discussion as to what the thread was originally about but I was only replying to the person who made the remark about the M3 in the first place, which was sunny. I know full well the different setting on EDC as I did own one a short while ago but I was simply passing comment that in the UK all the reviews remarked as to how brittle the ride was.

P.S.
I promise to refrain from mentioning the M word if other do likewise. :usa7uh:

This sentence "Now, with that said, this is a thread about RS5 and Massa, not M3 so let's continue without a BMW. Thanks." was directed to everybody, not just you.

No you brought up M3 in this thread in the first place, not me. Here.

My comment was showing how diverse reviews try to parcel the RS5 into certain stereotypes, not making a direct comparison to how you perceive the M3 to be better.

In this test the RS5 proved to be better than the Massa, not only in price but overall. So it has shown itself to not only be an accomplished Grand Tourer but it's also only of the best sports coupes in it's price bracket. Which is still an achievement in itself.
