In the modern world, its reasonable to think that all cars are close to identically safe, such has been the advances made in automotive safety, and stricter rules and regulations imposed in the last 20 years. However, along with the success of Volvo's S60 in the recent IIHS frontalal overlap test, Volvo has once again proved that it goes further than anyone else to protect the occupants (and in this case victims ) of their cars. The 2012 Volvo V40 has been acclaimed as the safest car in the world by renowned automotive safety testing program, Euro NCAP.
It scored a truly commendable:
98% score for adult protection,
75% score for child protection,
a best ever 88% score for pedestrian protection
and 100% in safety assist.
