Ultimatecarpage, with the permission of owner James Glickenhaus, has posted the first three officially sanctioned photos of the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina. The Enzo-based one-of-a-kind tribute to the classic Ferrari 330 P3/4 was not scheduled to be revealed until later this month, but leaks on the web spurred Glickenhouse to action.

The official unveiling is still scheduled for later this month, but until then, the owner has allowed Ultimatecarpage to post three photos. No, it isn't as gorgeous as the P3/P4 -- nothing is. What it is, however, is fantastic. Modern-looking for sure, the car's fenders, roofline, and rear clearly harken back to the P3/P4.

Built with the full cooperation of Ferrari, Glickenhaus' car is a fitting tribute to the revered original. We look forward to July 29th when the full set of images will be released. In the meantime, visit Ultimatecarpage.com to see larger versions of photo above plus two more shots of this very special vehicle.

We have one suggestion for Mr. Glickenhaus, direct from the Autoblog "Wishful Thinking" department: next summer, please send this car to Goodwood and have it follow your original P3/4 up the hill. What a thrill that'd be!

Ummm...

It's like looking at a "CARS OF THE FUTURE" article from the 80s... but like... this is for real. I'm not sure what to think.

Yeah, I reckon. It's like a car from the Ridge Racer game series, or a bonus car from the Need For Speed games before anyone knew what a 'rice rocket' was.

What a waste of an Enzo. Pininfarina should be ashamed of themselves.

Ferrari 612 P 4/5: two beacons in the buio

Some year it makes, I found in long machine be them 51 that gives Dobbiaco goes towards Curtain of Ampezzo. It was evening and, under a dense cloud sky, the panorama did not offer sure to fascinating nocturnal views like when "the incipria" moonlight the flanks of the summits of the Dolomiti.
In the buio I step on of the Pusteria, without warning, from the bottom of along rectilinear appear two distant beacons... between they nearly to occupy the entire track, bottoms until level of asphalt.
In that rather alarming scene I did not know in that side of the road posizionarmi: I had the clear impression that that strange object that was approaching a lot fastly, occupied both the tracks... and I was not in a position to seeing it until when I did not intercross it: one Ferrari F40!
Sure it would appeal to to me to repeat that event and that most special emotion but, in place of fabulous berlinetta the intentional one from the Commendator Ferrari, I would want that to remove the breath it was the 612 conturbante P 4/5 of the collector American Jim Glickenaus, created on the base of one Enzo with auto body, matita arrogant due to of Pininfarina, inspired to the 330 P4 of the ' 67. Beyond to the renewed astonishment not understanding what us it could be lì in front of hidden me in the buio... for a moment I would perhaps come picked from the terror of to have been catapultato on the circuit of the Sarthe during the 24 Hours of the Mans of the ' 67... contromano one!

The Ferrari 330 P cars were considered the most beautiful racers. This new car looks like a prop from a bad Hollywood futuristic movie. Ghastly.

Momentum is building for this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. One vehicle that has garnered a veritable ton of media coverage is James Glickenhaus' Pininfarina-designed Ferrari P4/5. Although the design has caused it's share of controversy, the rebodied Enzo's debut in Monterey is guaranteed to be one of, if not the, show stopper of the weekend.

We have already covered the P4/5 creation in detail, but Autoblog reader Richard sent us this link to a picture gallery of the bespoke machine in various states of production.

Follow the jump for the spec list and loads more Pininfarina goodness.

Pininfarina's released a press kit on the Ferrari P4/5 it created for James "Big Daddy" Glickenhaus, ahead of the car's debut at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance next month. They've including imagery of initial sketches, wind-tunnel testing, first-drive day and a candid shot of Glickenhaus talking his accountant down from a ledge. Check out the specs after the jump.

Is this the guy who posted on the Ferrari Owner's club forum or something a while ago - saying he was going to reskin an Enzo to what he wanted?
