So S class got almost double more votes compared to 7er and A8 together.

The A8 probably appeals more to the intellect than the emotions. I think it has some genuinely brilliant details: such as the ingenious way the main character line becomes the shut line of the hood/bonnet.

Absolutely NOTHING ingenious about that. It has been done many times before, and Audi is simply copying it. Like they always do.

You also think the shape of the rear door is brilliant? It's damned tragic, that's what it is.

...On a forum filled with MB lover fanboys. What's your point?

              1. S-class. Love that car inside out, such a gorgeous vehicle.
              2. A8. Although I don't particularly like the proportions...
              3. 7-series. Exterior is ok, but the interior is a let down sadly.

Yeah, and they are nothing like the numbers of this poll.

I HATE the new Audi grill.... I think the S-class and 7 series both look great. Styling is a dead heat for me. So for me the Audi is dead last.

As abrasive as ever I see.

I can't think of an example like this before. The way the character line does a quarter turn to become the shut line is quite unique I think.

.....and yes, I do like the rear doors ....very Modern. I can't wait to see your response when BMW eventually does this also.

I know there are examples of the character line forming the shut lines before (the A4 for example)

What makes this different is the way the line 'twists' as it forms the shut line. As the line flows into the shut line it no longer becomes a character line.
You can see it best in this picture:

The S klasse transports best the idea of what a large luxury saloon should look like. Like it does best for several decades by now. The 7er is a good alternative, if want to be on your way a bit less obvious, knowing you're driving one of the best cars in business. The A8 looks rather dull and seen that before. Interior, avant-garde looking or not, is for me a deal breaker: the fingerprint collecting screens are unacceptable.

Very modern on an SUV. No not even that, it's been done on SUV models for decades.

Not in a million years will BMW do this on a sedan. So I hope you have a while!
BTW, pretty damn pathetic to bring BMW into this, I expected better of you.
