X5 [Spyshots] Next generation BMW X5 (3rd gen) 2015?

The BMW X5 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW. The X5 made its debut in 1999 as the E53 model. It was BMW's first SUV. BMW marketed the X5 officially as a "Sports Activity Vehicle" (SAV), rather than an SUV, to indicate its on-road handling capability despite its large dimensions.
The idea of SCOTT driving a W140 is just so tempting to believe it... LOL

It the moment I'll hold judgement on the dash until I see it in person but I agree with Human the design appears to be less appealing than before.

Did somebody show these pics here?

"Weak" evolution of the E70's dash, that said IMO maybe a good thing!? I like familiar, evlutionary e.g. the double-stacked air vents. I hope the materials is to die for, RR-Sport set the bar VERY high! E53 was the benchmark and still is, considering it's age and 'back then' was only rivalled by the RR-big body.

^A new car this is right? ( Yoda voice)

Not a FL?

So how about a new interior, maybe a new direction for X BMWs when it comes to interiors??

To much to ask for??

Yes, too much. :D It's BMW. No new direction when it comes to the interior ... Evolution only. Expect some novelties in the new 7er. But not too much! ;)

^No man? Don't say that..:(

That is seriously saddening news.. i have very little love for BMW but still..
No one cares if ANY new BMW has Oldish interiors, but everyone is expecting a bang with the 7er..
I hope you are clueless and do not know what your talking about.

I feel sorry for the fans of the brand if your right.

PS
Your post deserves a major dislike, but i can't give you neg rep for bringing the truth if that's what your doing.

Even BMW i cars will come with standard BMW interior / dashboard elements (like vents, HVAC controls, iDrive controls etc) ... Don't expect miracles.

Next 7-series will be inspired by F30 3-series. lol
That steering design is pretty much same as E70 press release in 2006. Not a whole lot changed in 7 years.

Is it for sure ? I can see that, the 7er being inspired by the 3 series. I must say that the 3er interior looks fresh, modern, new. I can see what they can do with it at a more large scale. Anyway,I don't want a succesful 7 series cause I don't want to beat the S class.

Man, what a simplistic point of view. A strong 7er makes MB worry and put even more effort for the next S-Class. That´s what we all call market competition. What you suggest is good for no one.

Regarding the interior discussion, I agreee with what most of you have said. BMW´s current design them for its interiors is far from class leadership, and in cases like this new X5, we should start seeing some new ideas, affecting the buttons, the layout, the steering wheel... details that suggest a change from one model to the next one.

Changing the chrome on the steering wheel, leaving the nav screen as a stand alone one, and changing the speedo and the iDrive knob are not what I expect from an all-new X5.

PD: And of course, the G11 7er better be a bit more innovative than the current car. I remember the info SCOTT and EnI used to post back on the F01 testing stage, when we were told the F01 was evolutionary because the next 7er would be revolutionary. And no, CF parts on the car´s structure doesn´t make a car´s design revolutionary.

^ +1 to all of it, except the CF part in the last sentence. CF in the structure of a car like that pretty revolutionary. Just not to the eye.

But yeah, we really need a new lay out, new tech, new buttons and a new idea inside Bimmers. Just like what MB is doing with the S class, where everything looks brand spankin' new and classy and high tech.
The new X5 looks 'been there, done that', interior wise. Slightly different shapes and for the rest part bin sharing.

But it's too early for any final judgement.....

I hope you realise you are looking at a spy picture of a car that is being tested in FEP without final production interior or trim.

I must say that I agree with Skysony. He's totally right, its good for the competition. Anyway,I think that MB are also giving their best with the S class no matter how good or not are the rivals. I am sure for example that MB can put HUDs in their cars but they don't see it as a major option, as a ,
"must-have". Anyway, I will be happy when the G11 will be ariving because for me as a Mercedes fanboy it will be fine to see a nnot that good 7er, and if the car will be a hit it will be good for me as an automotive fan, as I love all the good cars. I like many Bmws. I adore the F10, the X5 was always much good looking at the exterior than the ML. I also always loved the 3 series coupes, and I am sure that I will like a lot the new 4er. 6er is gorgeous looking. But last two generations E65 and F01 were not my cup of tea inside-out. The last mohican, the last real 7er was the gorgeous E38. I adored that car. 7er needs a good revolution. And all Bmw line-up needs badly a major change in the interior. They need new layout and new dash design. These pairs of interior looks awful,I mean the scheme. Too much cars have same or almost same interior. The 5,6,7,X5,X6-first family 1er and 3er second family. X1,X3 with slightly changes, and the unique Z4. Only 3 truly different interiors at this moment. That's bad.
