G-Class [Spyshots] 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class (W464)

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class, colloquially known as the G-Wagon or G-Wagen (as an abbreviation of Geländewagen), is a four-wheel drive luxury SUV manufactured by Magna Steyr (formerly Steyr-Daimler-Puch) in Graz, Styria, Austria, and sold by Mercedes-Benz. Originally developed as a military off-roader, later more luxurious models were added to the line. In certain markets, it was sold under the Puch name as Puch G until 2000.

Imagine guys if they would bring back the short convertible version with that new interior. Sad it will never happen.

Who knows, they will build it if there is sufficient demand, or they could just keep the current SWB convertible in production. The body is largely hand-built anyway.

Furthermore, Daimler will most probably continue to produce the current G for military customers for some years.

I remember reading somewhere, there will be a LWB version of this (apart from the Maybach version)?

Opposite here. The analog instruments look ridiculous in every Benz, including this one. And part of why the G looks so highly interesting from the inside is the mix of modern and retro. The dual screens actually look best in this car, compared to the rest of the line-up. The narrow dash makes it look great.

Interesting. Over here the Range is a bit of a soccermon car, and the G is far too extreme for those ladies.

Completely agree with your point about the analogue gauges. However, there are always a handful of "cool moms" who want to differentiate themselves from the crowd by driving a G.

The clock should have been where the differential locks are. Nobody uses those these days.
