Depends on how you look at it. (I think it is way too flashy.)
The grills on the new luxury cars are being treated like car jewelry.
I think the 7er is responding the face/lift S-Class who also has a slightly larger grill than the preface lift.
I am not going to make final judgments until I see it in the metal but from the pics, the grill is not resolved well with the front end. The bling is definitely off the charts if you are into that sort of thing. The rappers are going to dig it!
This thing will be a star in numerous videos.

That new nose is much more menacing and at the same time more majestic than the pre LCI version. Totally changes the look of the car that it could be totally new model and not just a facelift. The 5 series will date very fast now and will need a LCI very soon so its styling will be in line with the 7 series and 3er.

On the 5 series, I beg to differ. Personally, I think the G20 is the best designed 5 series ever.

I actually think that a few years from now we will be looking at it and realise that it was the best 5er in design terms as the E46 is to the 3 series.

G30 you mean? Or did you want to express, that the new 3 series is effectively a new/best 5 series?

Agreed it will age as well as the e39 5er. Beautiful car .

I don't exepct 5er to get a radical facelift. The Series is selling extremely well. Expect a full digital cockpit, latest iDrive, some new tech, new headlights & tail light graphics, and some tweaks to bumper design & perhaps grille (eg. thicker vertical slots & grille frame). A conventional BMW facelift.

^Agreed. In SA I 'm already seeing alot of new 5 series on the road. The uptake was slow at first but now they're everywhere. Still waiting for the new A6.

I would say that the 5er is safe from any inclusion of a facelift on the magnitude of THE 7. Was at the Welt where they now have a Bayerische Motoren Werke display on featuring THE X7 and THE 8 but also the M8 Gran Coupe Concept and course an example of THE 7 hidden behind the scenes, until, next week at least.

The talk about the Bayerische cars lead to the creation of a new level of luxury for the BMW brand and that the larger kidneys are representative of that. Especially for the flagship X7 and THE 7 So in essence the 5er should be safe.

But again we have not seen the Bayerische cars as a trilogy. But the Gran Coupe of THE 8(Told to RSVP your VIP for Genf) is another brick in that wall and that they are working on other models (You are coming to Frankfurt in September?)

The grill line sits too high next to the headlights and makes it look "nosy", almost comical.

Until I see it in real life, I think the old grill still looks better.

I am on the opposite opinion. The prefacelift grill sits too low, which makes the whole front part look droopy and this contributes to the clumsy look of the car. The new grill is much higher, which brings balance to the ratio between the width and height of the front and the height of the side belt line.

What's interesting to me is that this extensive LCI has more changes than the current 5 series generation and the previous generation. They could have called the G30 an LCI based on design alone.

Lots more things to be unveiled before Sept. At a surprise location.

Don't know if that has already been answered: Will the 760 also get a massive power bump? Since 750 seems to get the 530hp variant of N63, the gap to the V12 seems to be quite small otherwise.
