3 Series (G50) [Spy shots] 2027 BMW 3 Series (G50)

The eighth generation of the BMW 3 Series range consists of the BMW G50 (sedan version) and BMW G51 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring') compact executive cars. It is to be unveiled and launched in 2026, with the next-generation M3 set to launch the year after. It will feature a new, minimalist design inspired by BMW's Vision Neue Klasse concept, and will be offered with both internal combustion and purely electric powertrains, though on different platforms.
It's not cab forward but it is more FWD-y compared to the G50.

Kinda like the 1st gen Chevy Cruze sedan vs 2nd gen.

1st gen had decent proportions but clearly fwd, but the 2nd gen went full on cab-forward and ruined the proportions.

These are nice:

Literally two completely different cars

Personally, front to the A pillar G50 for me. And A pillar to rear bumper i3. I prefer the boxy design of the i3 in the end I think, but it's damn difficult and my mood seems to swing between the two.
Damn… I thought I was the only one changing opinion by the day with these two. Today I say G50.

The details look ansolutely great. I doubt NK fits another BMW like it fits the 3er.

They both look pretty much identical except the positioning of the A-pillar.

When you add i3’s green house to the 3er they basically look exact same. Perhaps the only other difference I can see is that i3’s ass is a bit shorter.

Absolutely not. The roof of the i3 is flat, and the 3er is curved. This is a major difference.
Literally everything is different. Even the fuel cap is in another position on both.

From these side-view shots they look super similar. Front and rear light graphics are same as well.

I mean they look almost identical to me. Again, I’m only talking about these specific side views.

Not at all identical, two very distinct body styles, they couldn't be more different, despite BMW's narrative that "from a distance they will look the same," this is almost the same case as between the X3 and the iX3, except that these will share the front and rear design. one is more "classic BMW" and the other is ALL NK.

It's strange that you don't see it.

The i3 has a notably thinner greenhouse, higher beltline, and shallower raked windscreen. They look close, but different enough to where you can tell them apart. Even the shape of the C-pillar/hoffmeister kink looks different.

The devil is in the details though, so perhaps once uncamoflaged it'll be less obvious.
