BMW and Mercedes compact saloons have always had the best proportions in their class due to their RWD layout. From earlier models such as E30 and 190 series they all have lovely short front overhangs and great side profiles. That is why the 3 series and C class are always my favorite cars in this class

I believe at this stage there are validation prototypes being tested, as opposed to mules?:D

Secondly, I am certain that launch is in 2021. 2020 is too early, other than leaks or December early press release. The W205 barely was updated 1 year ago.

Thirdly, why do folks use the term "render(s)" to describe (a) rendering(s)? You wouldn't call a drawing, a "draws":p. I blame lazy journalism for poor grammar, in the case of auto evolution, Motor1 (nee WCF), and Car scoops, being rather careless at times with proofreading.

@Carmaker1, bud we been missing your presence and very informative info and details. Hope you are doing well.

You guys think the luxury grille is making it’s final appearance on the W205?

Here is wishlist Mercedes for things to change or improve on the W206 compared to W205.

1) The interior needs to be more spacious especially rear legroom/headroom and cabin width at least make it match or better the 3 series and A4. Also increase boot size to 500ltrs. Improve rear seat comfort.
2) Improve the build and material quality inside the interior hugely, make the car rock solid like older Mercs.
3) Improve the handling and steering sharpness and weight of steering and mostly the ride quality on sports suspension to be supple and controlled.
4) make the car the most quietest car in this class.
5) Reduce the weight by at least 50kg to 80kg per model
6) Increase the base fuel tank size to 55ltr instead of 41ltr and optional tank to 70ltr.
7) improve CD factor to 0 22.

Lol, the next C-class will probably be as large as a W124. No longer a compact sports saloon, scary how it will be about 30cm longer than the original 190 series. The current E-class is virtually the size of a W116 S-class and not far off W126 and weighs much more than both. Is this the signs of progress where cars are just growing eternally and becoming heavier?

Eventually they will need to stop growing. Small and ancient European cities won’t grow more generous in space.
