ROEWE -- the replacement name of the Rover

After the Chinese car maker SAIC failing to get the name of Rover from BMW, now they decided to create a new brand name "ROEWE" for their Rover 75.... sound so similar to Rover..... and the logo.....

I've read "Roewe" equals "Rong Wei" when transcribed in Chinese, and it means "honour & prestige".

"Rong Wei"!!!??? Doesn't it sound too much like "Wrong Way"?

Well, if it ever makes it to Germany, it might well be pronounced RoeVe.

What a shame. Everyone knows it's a copy, and blatant at that.. but is there anything you can do besides laugh and boycott?
