Very few things i like about the new ML. And even fewer i like about the R class. But i think overall the R63 looks a bit better, and has more use as an SUV like vehicle as far as roomier and more space for usage, an not as bulky, sleek and sporty.

The R63 as a family car and the ML 63 as an SUV: these are awesome cars! I really love the interiors, the looks and the performance! But I have no family, so my vote goes to the ML!

definitely the ML63. It's a great looking car (sorry BMW) and also practical, while i'm not into R-class like cars..

I just see the R as a bit more toned, yet sporty, elegant yet a monster, and for sure has more purpose than the ML. It was hard for me to pick considering i really dont like either that much.

The R-class by a mile. It looks less like a Kia.

Ah... The Sorento niche! Exactly!

For those who never saw a Kia sorento..

all SUVs look like each other! they are all like a big box with wheels :D

Not all, but this is a very similar look especially to a ML63!?!?!

Look at the FX, X5, RX, even the Subaru has a distinct look.

This is just way to close.

Lets not even talk about that R class. That is basically a Chrysler Pacifica with a mercedes badge. Now why the hell would a company put a huge engine in a pacifica???? Do they think soccer moms are gonna need to travel super fast. Its not like that car can handle.

Now the new ML class is very nice and that is a car i like.

ML63 :usa7uh: sweet
R63 :t-crazy2: absolutely retarded. Its a souped up minivan!

Personslly i said it before, but i dont like either, but i see the R more practical... :redface.doodle:

As far as power goes, the ML doesn't need a 63 engine either... its rediculous.

Ouch, now that you mentioned it. :eusa_doh:
I voted ML because it is still extremely aggressive... damn those Kia photos though, that hurt.

However I cannot live with that R class headlight.... simply unnacptable. And I think they look even worst in real life :t-crazy2:

Matt the R-Class is not a Pacifica with a Mercedes badge. They share the same market purpose only. They don't share engines, platforms or even layouts. The Pacifica is bascially fwd vehicle with optional awd an the R is a rwd-biased AWD vehicle.

They are not the same vehicle. Period.

The reason for this is that Kia like the rest of the Korean automakers will copy any and everything they see. All Mercedes did was evolve the new M from the old M, you know the original that Kia copied from for their Sorento.

This isn't Mercedes' fault and everyone knows (or should know) what the original vehicle is, Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes shouldn't have to diverge from their styling path because of everyone else.

That doesnt stop the R class from looking horrible.
I would check your facts on that because they look exactly the same and the companies are merged (news flash). So I would check that. I'm not positive that they do share the same parts but I would think so. That is why the companies merged anyway.

edit: I have done some fact checking and found that the cars dont use the same platforms or parts. They are very similar vehicles though, which interesting. They are both in the same class of car, which is like "adult tourer". The Pacifica is on an E class platform.
They really have stunning similarites, especially around the third pillar.

Well styling is another issue. Mechanicals is what I'm talking about. Actually you'd be wise to follow your own advice about "researching" before you claim that two vehicles are the same, when in fact they aren't.

Also, Matt the Pacifica isn't on the E-Class platform either. The Pacifica is on its own platform with suspension design inspired by Mercedes', but rendered in iron instead of the expensive stuff - aluminum like all Mercedes' are. No Mercedes E-Class platform is available in fwd. That ends the E-Class theory right there. In truth the Pacifica is based on a very heavily modified Chrysler minivan platform with the before mentioned suspension design inspired by or derived from Mercedes' parts bin.
