I'm quite interested to see how well the 14 mpxl Sigma slr does. It sounds competitive.

Notic this is a very good observation my friend. I don't know how well it will do, but the way things are going, it seems that everyone is going to have a fair chance at claiming the throne.

Well, I guess no new pro-summer DSLR from Canon except for the 400D. I was hoping to see an update for the 20D/30D models but since the 30D is only about 6 months old, it is a little early. Maybe Feb'07.

This lens on the 400D is the one I got a few months ago, the EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS model. Beautiful IQ...I shot the recent images of the interiors and the exteriors I have recently posted with it. Very sharp and excellent color rendition.

Wow Jack that is a really nice lense. Congrats!

I like the 400D but I think the D80 may just be it for me. Don't know yet.

Thanks...this is one of the shots I referred to shot by the new lens. Take your time on which camera and check out the options which are many.

I have a cam too, but mine is like a BMW 316i while your's is like a, well, S550.... so there's no point in competing in the photo competition with you, lol.

That cam is just awesome. How much did it cost, including lens???

Even though a camera such as DSLR is an advantage to the photographer, some argue that any true photographer can make a good picture with a disposable camera, obviously with certain restrictions. I think a lot of people are jumping into photography not taking into consideration the fact that photographer is more than just simply focusing on the subject and shooting.

Jack, I can see that the lense is sharp! Good stuff

BMW is completely correct...too much emphasis on the camera. It is the eye of the photographer which determines the final image...the camera and lenses are just tools to get you there. The better the tools the better the options to the photographer but the skill remains in the eye of the camera holder.

The 20D and a 17-85mm lens was about $1900 when the camera was introduced about 2 years ago.
