Re-post already. Also, everything is good except for those gloss black door handles.
I like them, i dont like the front in black though.. good thing that you can choose:D

PS
I thought the details were not posted, just the general pictures..my bad

Oh yes, almost forgot, Porsche allows customers to pick and choose and they will charge $$$$ for every single one of them.

^^
Porsche never dissapoint when it comes to options that will add €40,000 to the price tag of an already expensive car.

I like how people see it as a negative, ok they charge huge money, but the broad customization is amazing for a customer that has enough money:D

They will realize that they actually don't have enough money after specing the car they want.

Are they not gloss-like Piano black to match the interior?
No, they are matte black just like the steering wheel unit. This also makes sense from a scientific view as the respective functions are on a similar level in the function hierarchy.

Very glad they fixed this. Still funny that such PP mistakes still happen.
Edit: Just talked to a colleague at Porsche. They did not fix it; at least he claims that in 'base' models those ugly open cupholders will be standard.

My personal highlight among the numerous great details is the interior mirror. IRL, it's even more sophisticated.

I see that traffic assist for the Panamera only works up to 37mph which is the same for the 7-Series. Does anyone know who the supplier is?

I know that some manufacturers are working on home-grown tech but that there are obvious benefits to buying for the same supplier e.g time to market, R&D costs and knowledge.

So...

I've been wondering about that 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 diesel and whether it's the same as, or related to, the new V8 diesel in the SQ7 which features twin hot-side inside turbocharging boosted by an electric supercharger low down.

From what I can glean from the web thus far is that it isn't the same engine. It's still a 4 litre with hot vee charging but the two turbos are more traditionally mounted compared with those in the Audi SQ7.
In fact, having now gotten all intrigued, I have to point out that the turbo exhaust manifolding on the SQ7 V8 diesel is just nuts! To the point that it deserves a :eek2: and a :t-hair:.
Each valve - not cylinder - gets its own exhaust manifold outlet and this, in some bizarrely intricate, camshaft-determined trickery is how Audi arrives at "selective turbocharger actuation". Frisky.

The Porsche's 4 litre TT V8 diesel is comparatively more conventional from what I can see. And yet, in terms of outright outputs not far off at all from the Audi unit's figures being just 10 kW and 50 Nm down on the respective power and torque numbers. So that's pretty interesting in its own right.

As to how related the two engines are, say in terms of engine block, remains to be seen.

Martin here's on more thing worth finding out. Is the exhaust manifold water cooled for either the Panamera or the SQ7 V8?

VAG has been water cooling their exhaust manifolds for quite some time now at the lower end of their engine range, which has been doing wonders to the emissions of the engines that don't cheat with software.

On the other hand, this creates enormous temperature differentials in small distances and demands substantially bigger clearances (between the piston and cylinder) than before. This explains the huge oil consumption of modern VAG engines.

Biggest improvements between the two generations are rear and profile, and those two were the least elegant design of the Gen 1. Front is not so different to my eyes.
There is a striking difference in the interior between the two generations. So much more modern and elegant in the new and in design way above the competition. The gearlever though seems out of place in the middle of this futuristic and elegant design.

Much better rear, more digestable profile, great interior style although i am not fan of the central tunnel design, not very fluid, it should have continued the central console instead of bolting that huge and ugly cupholder block.

Phenomenal, gorgeous. What a massive 180° turn from being an ugly frog to nicest big sedan at the moment.

Although the interior at first may seem too luxury oriented for a sports brand like Porsche, is a masterclass to Audi and their wide vents and huge shifting knobs, BMW and their derivative design and the biggest mess of all, Mercedes and their cramped round vents, badly integrated screens and door panels with switches cluster all over the place.

I found it miles more desiderable than an A8, 7er or S class. And Jaguar XJ and Maserati Quattroporte can just rest in peace.

I think this is my favourite interior in the market right now.

It is simply perfect.

Interesting to know what type of material are those gloss surfaces made of, it is a glass coating, plastic etc..how scratch resistant are they?
