3 Series (E90) Official: BMW E90/E91 Facelift Thread

The BMW E90 is the fifth generation of the BMW 3 Series range. Body styles: E90 (saloon), E91 (estate/touring), E92 (coupé) and E93 (convertible). Predecessor: BMW E46. Successors: F30/F31 3 Series, and F32/F33 4 Series. Production: 2004-2013.
^^ Awesome stuff buddy!! I decided to configure my own new 3er as well :D (and I don't know German either).

Here's what my dream 3er would be:

I naturally would have gone for a white exterior, but I thought I'd try and find another colour which looked great...and I think I found me one! :D

^ ... and 5er, 6er, X5 and soon new Z4 ;)

The answer is no, sadly. I guess it was too expensive for BMW to completely rework the electronics for the shifter for a 'mere' facelift. The old gearlever is operated mechanically, and the new one is drive-by-wire, electric.

Im sure I saw an official press release pic with the 7speed 335 fitted with that shifter? I guess its exclusively for the 335's then?

I guess you mean the double-clutch transmission that is exclusively for the facelifted 335i and M3. All the rest of the 3-series range will keep Steptronic with the classic gear lever.

^ You're right, but it's only for the 335i coupé and cabrio so far. the DKG is not available for the 335i sedan yet I believe.

The regular Steptronic automatic transmission is the same as before in all 3er models.

Thanks! :) Another concern from my thick head: are those paddle shifters really 100% ergonomically correct? ;) When you have a "normal sized" hand, is it virtually impossible that the paddle shifters (especially the top, pushable parts) get in the way of your hands or fingers when e.g. you're driving a bit vigorously?

I made a mistake by saying that the paddle shifters will down shift when pulling towards the driver, it's actually the other way around... sorry I was sleepy at the time:eusa_doh:

I never had problems with the paddle shifters, it's something that you will get use to. I'd say go get a test drive from your local dealers, nothing can be said better than actually driving the car. :t-drive:

New issue of autobild has E90 FCI and B8 A4 side by side:

For all the classiness of the Audi's design I like the innovative look of the Bimmer oceans more.

At ree yeah I like BMWs configuration it's much better to use than Audis and with BMW it changes all the details that u choose not like Audis:t-banghea

I spotted the facelifted E90 today. One in white and one in grey with M-package.
They were behind a fence and from a distance so I couldnt take a closer look and I didnt see the rear.
A prefacelifted E90 stood next to the white Touring. From distance its not easy to spot a difference between them.
The cars look good but Im not 100% sure on the M-package but again, I spotted them from a distant. I need a closer look and that happens 27th September.

I've seen the LCI 3er too, up close. Both the sedan and touring. The sedan was gray, and the touring blue. Both standard non M package. A shame I didn't have a cam with me, and both cars were locked so I couldn't get in and try out the new iDrive...
I'm sorry I didn't have a camera with me guys, but in real it's a pretty awesome update to the car. I really like the new all red backlights. Looks really stunning and fresh!

Edit; Andreas: the new 3er arrives at the dealerships on the 21st of this month here in my country. But I saw the cars at BMW Netherlands headquarters, which is really close to where I live!

Very pretty. I prefer the alternative bumper since it's more harmonious.
