9ff More details emerge on 9ff's modified Porsche Panamera

9ff is a German car tuning company based in Dortmund. It was founded by Jan Fatthauer in 2001. It specializes in converting stock Porsches into street legal racing vehicles, either as fully tuned cars, or by selling individual parts or kits. The company is best known for building one of the first cars to exceed 400 km/h (249 mph), the GT9, capable of 256 mph (412 km/h). The former company, 9ff Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH, filed for bankruptcy in September 2013. A new company, 9ff Engineering GmbH was founded in October 2013. Official website: 9ff

Porsche’s Panamera sedan isn’t expected to hit the market until the first half of next year but already we have details about one of the first tuner kits for the car, courtesy of these latest renderings from 9ff and TopCar. You may recall 9ff as the company behind other extreme Porsches such as the Veyron-rivaling GT9 supercar and the 780hp (582kW) 911 Turbo Cabrio. TopCar is a Russian firm that has joined forces with 9ff for this project.

The partnership is divided along functional lines: TopCar will handle the design aspects of the kit, 9ff will handle the performance upgrades and another firm called Cardi will actually fabricate the necessary body parts. The three companies have collaborated on similar projects in the past, and hope this time around to produce one of the first hotted-up Porsche super-sedans in the world.

The project is, however, still in its very earliest stages. While there are no actual specs for the kit, we can gather several crucial details from these renderings including the final shape of the Panamera itself. We can see for the first time the shape of the car’s glasshouse, including the rear hatch window, as well as the shape of the taillights and rear diffuser design. 9ff says that every external body panel will be replaced by the kit, perhaps offering an opportunity to iron out some of the more bizarre aspects of the Panamera's design.

The standard Panamera is expected to be available with a number of different engines ranging from a 3.6L V6 up to a twin-turbocharged 4.8L V8. However, on its release only a pair V8s, one naturally aspirated and the other turbocharged, will be available and one of these is likely to be the base on which the 9ff package is developed on.

Porsche’s Panamera sedan has just hit the market, but already custom houses are starting their modification programs for the car. One of the most intriguing is from 9ff, the company behind other extreme Porsches such as the Veyron-rivaling GT9 supercar and the 780 horsepower 911 Turbo Cabrio.

As with its previous Porsche projects, the Panamera power-splurge starts with a turbocharger. Available in power ratings from 550 horsepower to 650 horsepower, the 9ff Panamera moves the super sedan into the realm of the uber-sedan. Other upgrades in the queue include 22-inch three-piece alloy wheels, a complete body kit and a reworked interior, all on display in these renderings.

Three stages are proposed so far, starting with the PT55 at 550 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque thanks to a boosted ECU tune and higher-flow air filters. An exhaust upgrade gets you to the PT60, which boasts 600 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, and the range-topping PT65 gets the 650 horsepower output due to an upgraded turbo, re-tune and exhaust, while also adding a vented hood to help cool the engine bay.
The project is, however, still in its early stages, so expect to see further developments both in terms of performance and exterior appearance, before the car gets built out and hits the street.

Epic. There's almost no need for a Bugatti sedan. The Panamera is already a demon with a mere 500hp, the performance figures for a 650hp version of the car must be out of this world.
